When transferring designs categories are not sticking

I’m transferring a design to multiple products and have to reselect the category in events and occasions each time.

How do I get it to stick?

There isn’t a way to have it stick, and I suspect this is intentional behavior. Imagine if you had a floral design on a birthday invitation and transferred the same design to use as a sympathy card. It would be kind of a disaster if that sympathy card ended up with a ‘Happy Birthday’ category. Leaving the default blank is much better than having it assigned to the wrong event.

It’s a lot more likely though, that we are using the transfer feature to other products in the same niche, especially when doing a whole wedding suite.

I understand what you are saying @Connie  but even within wedding suites there are a bunch of sub-categories so the field still needs to be changed. For myself, I’d rather it defaulted to blank so I’m more likely to notice it and select the correct  subcategory than I would be if it was already filled in. Anyway, it’s something that isn’t my decision but that would be my vote.

I create designs for specific niches, and presume that most people do the same. I’m not going to, for example, transfer a Halloween design to Christmas.

I have the same problem.

In my case, I open a product of a poster of a sunflowers photo for example. The new product is in the same category and collection but has a new sunflowers photo. There is no need to change the product category or collection.

Even when I change the category and publish the new product, it doesn’t stick.

This is not a huge problem but these bugs do add up as we’re trying to add products.
