Guess I’m getting old and forgetful or blind or both… I’m desperately looking for the place where you can set your default royalty but can’t find it… any hint from a helpful soul? Thanks!
Oh. Is there a penalty on marketplace listings if you set your royalty higher than the infamous 14.9%? Don’t want to exaggerate but it would be nice to have at least clean 10% in your pocket after all the various reductions. I know there is a small fee applied to the royalties above, that’s fine. Just curious if you get penalized in the marketplace.
It’s on the My Account tab of your Member page. https://www.zazzle.com/my/home
I set each and every product as I feel appropriate when publishing the item. I set my Default royalty to 25% because that is what gets applied when someone transfers a design and it’s paid off a couple of times. People have said many times that high royalties effect their Z-rank, make of that what you will. I just know that if you have the tags people are searching for, your royalty isn’t keeping you out of results.

Thank you! I knew I could count on one of the usual suspects
Yes, I know about the role of the default royalty, I’ll set it probably to 20%. This should more or less grant a “clean” 10-15% after the fees and referral share. I also set the % by product to get to a what I feel is a fair price for that specific product and design. Some higher-priced items I’ve put in the 10% range while others go actually up to 20. The Z-rank isn’t a big concern to me, mine usually ranges from 6 to 8, which is fine. I wasn’t sure if there was a penalization in the marketplace listings if you go over 10 or the 14.9. Since I am a disaster in promoting myself, most of my sales come from the marketplace and 3rd party affiliates.
