Collection set to private

Somehow I have a collection (just created yesterday) that is set to private.  I didn’t set it this way, and can’t find anything in the settings to set it to public.  I’m at a loss.

Suggestions?

Have you checked in the Collection Channels (Zazzle marketplace/ Your stores) - top right - there’s an ‘enabled’ button that should be blue

I think that should make it public

Yes, I saw that suggestion in a thread here and everything is set to “enabled”.

@CarlaRolfe  It can take up to 48 hours for a new collection to become visible - so perhaps the server is lagging? How do you know it’s set to private?

When I click to “view on zazzle” there’s a padlock icon and small print just under the description that says “this is private”. Yesterday when I tried to share it, all that came up was a blank square.

Now, when I click “share”, a new box just came up telling me it was set to private, and asking me if I’d like to make it public.  Pretty strange since I never set it to private to begin with, and don’t even know where the settings option is, that allows the designer to do that.

ETA: clicking “okay” to make the collection public instead of private, isn’t sticking.  Clicked it, hit refresh, went to add new product to it and got the padlock icon again telling me it’s a private collection.

@CarlaRolfe  is it attached to a store?

Yes, it is attached to a store.  I created this one and set it up exactly the same as all the others.  For some reason I can’t figure out, it’s set to private and will not let me change that setting. It gives the option if I attempt to share, but it does not stick.

@CarlaRolfe  Try making a new collection and see if it happens again. If it does, report it with the workflow that you did to create it in Technical and am sure the Tech Team will sort it out

Created a new one and the same exact thing happened.

Added bonus: Now I can’t even add any products from the back end, or the product page itself. I can only add product from the actual back end of the collection page, which doesn’t allow the sort option for products the way I need it to, to add the correct product.

I have the same problem…Collection is set to “private” even though I didn’t do it. I can’t get it set to public either. If I click the collection on e.g. If I want to promote Facebook, a new small window opens that says that the collection is private and whether I want to set it to public… I click on that too… but it only works for a few seconds. If I look at my product page and want to import a product into the collection, a lock is displayed next to the collection. Where can I set it to public? Zazzle Marketplace, mail and my store are enabled

Obviously there’s some sort of glitch with collections right now.  Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

This just happened to me too. I was having a devil of a time trying to figure out how to unlock it. I’ll wait and check the collection tomorrow.

I just wanted to add, that this just happened to me. Let’s hope it’s fixed soon.

So, it did magical unlock itself. This is buggy behavior and I hope it’s fixed soon.

FYI: Happening to me too!

Happened to me as well with a collection I created yesterday.

Add another to the list. It was fine a week ago, added a new product today, and boom it locked. This is frustrating.

Hi @bhdxxx ,

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing an issue here. Can you provide a link to the Collection exhibiting this behavior so we can take a look for you and the rest of the Community?

Thank you for your patience!

I’m having the same problem with this  collection.

@ElizabethR  I can see that collection ok - there are 34 products and when I share - I see the products

If,like you said in another thread, you have recently unhidden the collection and/or products - it can take a few days for it to be re-indexed and seen by the system again. And as the site’s getting busy - it could take longer.
