The benefit is meant to be increased earnings potential of self-referred sales.
However unfortunately most designers are experiencing a drop of about 30-40% in overall gross income due to the increased marketing fees on 3rd party sales and the previously non referred sales AKA ‘none’ sales being treated as 3rd party sales now. As such the only way someone could benefit is if they were very good at promoting their own products.
