What really is the difference? I'm seeing a lot of posts about issues with "frames" and also how to "mask" (even if the poster didn't use that exact word to describe what they wanted to do) and am confused over the different options Zazzle offers and what the end result to the customer trying to personalize the design might be.  In the Design Tool, when you click to add Elements, there are some basic "Configurable Shapes" at top then "Shapes" then "Frames". * If from the 'Configurable Shapes' section you choose the one that looks like a square it is labeled as "Rectangle" in the Layers list.  * If from the 'Shapes' section you choose the one that looks like a square it is labeled as "Square" in the Layers list. * If from the 'Frames' section you choose the one that looks like a square it is labeled as "Frame" in the Layers list.  All three choices let you adjust the size of the shape, in or out of proportion. All three choices let you use the resulting shape as a mask for a template image.  elements added after making them image templates The only difference I am seeing is one of convenience?  If you use choose the 'Frame' option, the image you add is automatically sized to fit the frame and you don't have to manually select the image and shape layer together and click to Mask.  Outside of that small convenience, what is the advantage to using a Frame selection instead of a 'configurable shape' or 'shape' or your own .svg to make a mask?  Also wondering if with all the changes to the interface that I can't keep track of, are there going to be tech issues going forward with manually created masks? Is Z pushing using their Frames instead because it will have consequences down the road if you don't? ... View more

With the new foil guestbooks, this is the first time I've seriously toyed around with a design idea using this type print, and I have questions ... 1) If I upload an image to the foil layer, I get the pop-up to choose a "filter".  The "Etched" and "Dots" both say 'recommended for photographs' and the ? info is the same except one says dots and one says lines. Then each filter has a scroll for different contrast levels. When I select one of those tiny thumbs, there's a lag time for the change to register in the larger main thumb. Then I have to click Apply to be back in the Design Tool view, then Done from there to view the previews where it is really hard to tell what the difference is. It's a lot of back & forth trying to see if this is a better option than that. So, is there any particular option you use as your standard "default" so you don't have to keep going back and forth trying to visually determine a difference in the product previews? 2) If the image added to the foil layer is a .svg file, you don't get this filter option pop-up, and the .svg doesn't function normally either. You only get the options for Fill color and Border color and they can only be black or white, with different resulting effects. So, is there any particular benefit (or drawback) to using an .svg file rather than a .png? 3) If you add text to the foil layer using the Design Tool's Add Text option, you can set the text color to black or white. When I set it to white the text disappears from the design regardless of which foil color (gold, silver, or rose gold) I choose so I'm not understanding why white is an option? 4) Given #2 & #3, if I want to add a simple .png image file of an object, shape, or pre-formatted text (on trans background of course) - does it matter if that image is solid black, white or other color or mixed colors? So in otherwords,  if I want to create something in PS specifically to use on a foil layer, should I make it solid black, solid white, or other? ... View more

What is going on with the new guest books? Style: 9" x 6" Guestbook The old ones were discontinued. Existing Guest Books were not migrated. So all guest books were just hidden.   More importantly, the design tool appears to be broken. Photos pop up to the top left corner instead of staying where designed.      @Scott , @Mark , @MarkM , @Fiona  Please don't say you'll pass it on and then do nothing about it. Good afternoon all! I have a customer who wants a Baby Shower sign to coordinate with a shower invitation that she recently purchased from me on Z. The shower is October 11th so my first question is will it arrive on time if she purchases it today or tomorrow and question 2 if it won't arrive in time, the Value Poster 26.15" x 34.87 would be an option for her to purchase as a digital file or what are options for a digital file? I apologize if I'm not making sense, I would hate for her to have a problem. I know she can select what poster size she wants, what would be the best size to make the sign? I have tried a few times to edit the border on one of my active designs. It's currently pink so I need to change the border for a gender neutral invitation. I have tried twice and I'm not able to change it. Haven't created anything in Zazzle for a while. Came back today to open a new shop, create some products, but I can't find any design dimensions for products. No list, nothing. I finally find that there should be guides you can download from the editing section of the product, but there are none on the product I'm trying to design (mug), and the dimensions I used to use are wrong now. I am creating phone cases and I am running into a problem with the iphone 16 Case-Mate Case. In the design tool I am doing everything I can to ensure names that need to be centered properly, are indeed centered. But the product view shows it completely different.
