A few Collections questions

1. Am I understanding correctly that we can only have collections showing in one store now, and that store cannot be changed from when the collection was first made?

2. How do we get back to our collections page after we are done editing a particular collection?

3. Will we be penalized if we categorize a collection wrong? I have a bunch of collections with the same design on a variety of products for home decor and office (but not business, just general things like notebooks, binders, stickers, etc.), which Zazzle automatically put under Other. But since that basically means "Hidden," I'm changing them to Home & Living> "Similar Style/ Theme", even though the description says : "All products should use the same, or similar product type." But they don't have a category for Same Design, different products, for non-event themes.

I have the same questions as your no. 3 question!! To me it is really weird that there is no category with same/simular design but on different products!!

They appear to think that collections like that have “ no clear purpose or intent."…

Which is ridiculous! I mean, if a customer sees a bath towel they like, but they'd rather have a kitchen towel with that same design, it's clearly the purpose of the collection to show them that there's a kitchen towel available! Or they might see a throw pillow that they like, but think of how they need a mousepad, and that design would be perfect for their mousepad! Someone buying a beach towel, might want a matching notebook or tote bag or sticker for their water bottle to go along with it!

Connie, to answer one of your questions in case you haven't found it -- there is a toggle in the upper right hand corner when working on the new collection format that takes you back to the original view.

I don't understand why it wouldn't be considered a 'clear purpose and intent' to guide customers to more products with the same design.

For some collections there's an email promotion feature, where a message is sent to the customer after they buy a product, suggesting other products with the same design.  If that's a clear purpose and intent, then surely collections with same design, different products, have this purpose too?

Connie I couldn't agree with what you stated more. As I stated in an earlier post this makes setting up ones Zazzle shop even more daunting, frustrating and confusing. Zazzle is trying to get designers to create product suites to make their products and product lines more enticing to potential buyers. I get that. People often like to buy products in sets or collections that have a set purpose or use case. However Zazzle does need to broaden the collection types and include: Awareness, Fashion & Accessories, Current and Political Events, Souvenirs. I am surprised that there isn't a collection type for Sports. And as you stated there are products that match and complement each other and are NOT just stand alone one off pieces. This new roll out is making it impossible to create cohesive curated collections that are marketable. I too am frustrated with this new change as it makes store set up even more confusing and daunting. If any Zazzle moderators actually read this thread please keep this in mind when beta testing and implementing these changes particularly where collections are concerned. Collections are buggy to begin with. Also please consider making collection types broader and less niched down. Meaning, please include NON EVENT  NON OCCASSION categories or types. I myself will be selling politically and socially conscious fashion and accessories, also women's activewear and even souvenirs as I am based in Salem Massachusetts which is a major tourist hub. So please do include these collections types. Finally please consider what Connie and others have stated.

Yes, many of my collections are like this at the moment too. It's hard to know where to put them with the new collection types. I'm wondering whether we have to re-create each product with extra wording, to fit them into the new system.
