CROSS-SELL COLLECTION

So, he's supposed to make sure I do all the sets, so it's an upsell and he has no other options
Even if it is a group on topics other than invitations, such as Father's Day, Mother's Day, and holidays

It's unclear what your question is Dalia, so that is probably why no one has answered you yet. Maybe you could explain more?

Should I make all collections cross-sell instead of other options to increase sales?
Even if these collections are about topics other than invitations, such as Father's Day, Mother's Day, and holidays

When you make a collection cross-sell, such as Father's Day, Mother's Day and holidays, there is usually a list of recommended products with one required product. That required product will almost always be a card but this card does not have to be an invitation. For Mother's Day, Father's Day and holidays, the appropriate card is a greeting card.

When I make a collection for the holidays, Mother's Day, or Father's Day, is it better to have one design for all the products, or is it better to have different designs for the same occasion?
Does Zazzle care about similar style, different style, gift themes and other collections? Otherwise, it is better to clear all collections for cross-sell.

I've done it both ways. I have a Mother's Day collection that is cross sell and everything in it matches, including the greeting card. I have a different collection (not cross sell) with all sorts of different Mother's Day things, including many different Mother's Day cards.

Collections don't have to be cross sell to get customers to look at them. They appear on the product page no matter what type they are and I have made sales that way.

I gave up creating collections using Zazzle's new formula because that formula is mainly focused on larger events for gift-giving, which is fine even though that's not my personal focus. For instance, where do oven mitts fit into that scheme? A business card for a plumber? My collections still show up beneath my products, which is all I care about.

Zazzle does go pretty hard on the events (since they are the only POD that does personalized invitations) but they have pretty robust home goods too. I figure the oven mitts fit in for people who want a thematic matchy-matchy kitchen. All sunflowers. All baked goods. So I put oven mitts in matchy-matchy kitchen collections.

Business cards for plumbers? Heck yes! Particularly magnetic ones. My fridge has a bunch of business card magnets on it for local businesses, including a plumber. I have also sold magnetic business cards. They don't get the Zazzle focus since they aren't at all elegant. But they sure are functional.

I wish Zazzle would give a bit of love on their landing page each time it changes to the various orphan products, even just one of them at a time. What about customers searching for a single gift for a special person who might appreciate a clock for a child's room, stickers for preserves, and, yes, tarot cards, none of which work all that well for the new collections? I don't mean the little circles at the top of a search page. I mean the front page. Who knows? It might work as a great companion to collections, hitting the places where collections don't necessarily work so well.

Agreed. Zazzle introduces a lot of cool products that are pretty much standalone and they fall through the cracks. Recent additions would be bluetooth speakers and LED lights. And those tarot cards. Do I put them in a Halloween collection? That doesn't feel quite right.

KeeganCreations

You're right. Halloween doesn't work for tarot cards since they're almost invariably used by either one person alone or perhaps with a friend. I've been placing them in a simple collection called "Tarot Cards," and thinking any leverage they get will probably have to come from outside promotion. Yet another orphan. Too bad. They're rather cool.

I ran a search for them last night on Zazzle and found nothing but tarot-style invitations. Maybe it's better today.

Is it useful to create a cross-selling collection of business cards, and will I use all the suggested products at the time?
