Color-grouping is so hit-or-miss. I have a few things I was pleasantly surprised to find automatically grouped as I hadn't even thought about it for those things. On the other hand, there are things you really want grouped and they aren't. I have four color variations of a tree skirt and the one color that has sold before simply will not group with the other three. I requested it be added to the group back when we had the Google request form. I requested it multiple times after we got the ability to request via the back-end. I made a post in the old tech forum specifically asking for it to be added to the group ... but it is still stubbornly on its own. I have a pillow design I got really carried away on and published 8 color versions of. They were auto-grouped in three sets of 5, 2, and 1. Who knows. Color grouping was a wonderful feature addition but it's maddening when you can't get it to work the way you hope.
