Using "free" image sites that allow users to upload images is risky.. You are relying on the person who posted the image to either be 1) knowledgeable about copyright and trademark and understand what they are allowed and not allowed to contribute to the site or 2) honest.. and not upload anything they are not permitted to... Typically you can always find some images that should never have been posted on free sites such as Freepik because the images are not curated or moderated unless/until the person who actually owns them complains and they are removed.
So.. to summarize - using images from any free site is risky. While the images may be safe to use, there is no guarantee that they are. If you want to be know that what you are using is 100% safe and legal, either create it yourself or buy the rights from a reliable stock art supplier.

Freepik's Terms of Use says that you can't use their assets as the main element.
"Does not use the Freepik Content in printed or electronic items (e.g. t-shirts, cups, postcards, birthday or greeting cards, invitations, calendars, web models or electronic devices, apps, NFTs, videogames, advertising spots, audiovisual animations) aimed to be resold, in which the content in the Freepik Content is the main element (because of size, relevance or any other cause, in case of doubt about whether the content is main element, it shall be deemed that the content is main element);"

Also, Freepik's free assets require attribution.
