New Design Tool - Is This Now The Only Option?

I opted out of using the new design tool however I’ve now got it back.

I can’t find a way to return to the original tool.

Has the old tool now been disabled?

Hoping it hasn’t 🤞 Thanks Sue

It looks like it has. 😞

And yet using the old editor still for tissue paper so it’s still there for some items!

Yes, there’s a post from yesterday that talks about the same thing happening with about 6-8 other products.

With this new tool, I can't seem to find a way to enable customization on my product. Can someone please help?

Zazzle used to be fun. Now it's just maddening.

It used to be a lot of fun designing on Zazzle for me too before this tool not anymore it’s complicated and frustrating now.

I can't turn my designs to be in portrait mode. The Icon on the bottom of the page far right has a green check and I can't get it to change. I have 70 designs to get listed by Monday. Is there a way to get back to the old way to list.

Hi @Rena just in case … have you added any text/image to the design area? The mode won’t change from portrait to landscape until you have added something to it. It was like that in the old design tool too.

Yes I have added a my designs and when I click on orientation there is a green check mark.

Thank you

Ah, sorry to hear that. I tried it on one of mine and it switched OK when I clicked on horizontal to portrait and the green check mark moved to portrait accordingly. Sorry it didn’t help with yours.

This was reported on another feed, and I believe they are looking into it.

Hope you found a way to sort it out, Rena.

Loving your latest designs, (did a search and these popped up when I looked at newest 👍).

I found a work around but no solution but now the papers and not only mind but many others are showing short on the print out. Have you checked yours?

The new tool is horrible. Too many extra steps. The drop down menu blocks the design space plus I can't find the fit and fill functions.  why fix what wasn't broken?

UPDATE I was able to find a past tissue paper I design in portrait, go to edit it, change the image to my new one and sell it like that. Although it looked odd it worked, but to note, you still cannot use the orientation toggles at the bottom.
--------------
This is one big mess. I decided to avoid mess I would just go back to my tissue paper designing and the tool can't even do that (yes I have tried various browsers).  In tissue paper you can only create landscape because the orientation to change to portrait doesn't work. I guess I'm done here until they either revert back to the old designer or correct all that is broken on this new one. I feel sorry for customers trying to use it too!
AND THE FORUM WON'T EVEN LET ME UPLOAD A PHOTO TO SHOW YOU. I can upload another unrelated image so I have no idea why zazzle doesn't want you to see what the problem is.
But I contacted Help, which is for customers. He couldn't get it to work either and said he would report it to zazzle "engineers".
I have been here since 2012, this is the biggest mess I've seen so far. Hopefully we can revert asap back to the old designer tool because this one was NOT FULLY TESTED CORRECTLY.
THANKS FOR YA'LLS ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

@colorgoddess

I’m still dealing with the exact same issue. I let Support know that I had found a temporary workaround—just like many of you—and the response I got was basically, “Glad you figured that out.” But the underlying problem is still there.
Now there’s a new issue on top of it. Has anyone checked their paper designs lately? Some of mine aren’t printing correctly. The last time Zazzle changed the paper sizes, everything went off-kilter and it took quite a while to get all of my designs fixed. At that time I had over 3,500 listings, so it was a major setback.
With this new upload platform—portrait/landscape selection, the green check marks getting stuck, and the tool not functioning properly—it feels like the same sizing problem has resurfaced. The old paper size is even showing up again, although it’s marked out.
The biggest concern right now is the 18x24 papers. They are not printing all the way to the edge, while the other sizes are fine. A lot of my customers rely on that size because it fits their canvas projects, so this is a real issue.
I’m all for improvements and making the platform easier to use, but it would be incredibly helpful if these updates were fully tested before being rolled out. These glitches directly affect our sales and customer satisfaction.

The 18x24 papers are not printing all the way to the edge but the other are and a lot of my clients use that size because it fits the canvas.

I can see change and making things easier but it would be so much appreciated if they would make sure it is going to work properly first.

I would really appreciate any assistance

thank you

The new design is permanent I am guessing. I was first shocked and couldn’t adjust but adjusted now and using it for 2% of my designing work and 98% I use mobile designing tool. I didn’t learn the new one only a few things, I leave it for those who are more advantageous, those who needed it most and won’t give up on learning new tool. Good luck to you.
