A question about greeting cards.
For example with a Birthday Card. Are they always send first to the person buying it, or is there an option on checkout that they are send directly to the birthday person?
When they send directly it's probably best to always have an editable template field on the inside or back of the card for the buyer to add a message. But I also see cards where the inside or for postcards the back is left empty. What is more common and how do you handle this?
If the inside is empty then creators might miss out to the buyers who want to send a card directly to someone else.
Examples, one without a message. So this one is likely to send first to the buyer to add a message later.
One with a template message. Could be sent directly to the birthday person (if that's possible on Zazzle).
Just trying to learn more about the process, thanks!

As far as I know there is no direct send option (though that would be a wonderful feature to offer!) You can have it shipped to any address, but it won't arrive like a greeting card - i.e. a single card in a single envelope - it will arrive the same way it does if shipped to the person who bought it - in other words, the card and its white envelope will arrive inside a larger mailing sleeve of some sort.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong (I don't do a lot of greeting cards) but I believe that's how it works.

Good question. For greeting cards that are instant downloads, my understanding is the customer who purchases the card personalizes it prior to downloading. Once they download the card, they can send it electronically to the recipient. I have not yet tested this process on a greeting card, but I have tested it on a birthday party invitation.
