My royalty setting in the backend is $9.
When I purchased the shirt with code, email said $6.35r . What gives??? Is the discount my liability or theirs? If so I don't understand the business model. This is why screw Amazon.

If I am understanding your question, not sure if you are asking about your royalty being lower than what you set it? So if that's it---Look in your royalty history>under the referred tab. What does it say? If it says third party, then a percentage was taken out of your royalty for whoever was the referrer, might have been Zazzle, since they include codes with their emails, did you use a Zazzle code included in an email from them?
I and many other Shopkeepers have discussed this on the old forum, and there are probably various posts about it on the new forum we now have. If you search the forum, there should be discussions on various ways to purchase by clearing cookies. But even using those methods do not always work.

Your question is difficult to interpret.... Are you saying you used a coupon code to get a sale price and are wondering why you didn't get your expected royalty?

So.... You don't set a dollar amount for your royalty, you set a percentage and that it is a percentage of the actual amount of the purchase, not the MSRP. Let's say the item is $10 and your royalty is set at 10% - you get $1 right... well if the items is 50% off and the customer pays $5 you will still only get 10% - so you get 50 cents.

That's the simplified answer - in reality there are *many* things that can affect exactly how much you get - if you set your royalty over 15% there is a fee, if a customer uses 3rd party content there is a carve out, if there is a 3rd party referral there is a carve out, if the customer chooses an upgrade that portion of the cost may have a different royalty applied. It can be complicated.

So I should set my royalty as a percentage not a value.

Yes.  All of the products at Zazzle are sold based on a royalty percentage.  Sometimes a promoter will feature your products in their advertising and if their work generates a sale you'll see "third party sale" in the sales report and they will earn 15% which will be deducted from your total percentage.  Other times you can earn a referral and receive a % depending on how you have set it up.  Hope this helps

You can only set your royalty as a percentage.... I'm not where you looking if you believe you are setting a value...

Zazzle royalty settings are a percentage.

The $ amount you see when posting an item for sale is an example of the royalty you would receive if someone purchased the item at full price, without any discount code.
