Went from ~600 Monthly Views to 0

I have a listing that was consistently getting 600 to 900 views monthly for the last six months and selling regularly. However, in mid-July, the views suddenly dropped to zero, and it has stayed at zero views and sales for the past few weeks. I contacted Zazzle, but they haven't been helpful. I understand if views and sales decrease over time, but it doesn't make sense that it went from consistent activity to zero overnight. The listing isn't hidden or removed for any violation, and it was near the front page in searches, but now it's nowhere to be found in the marketplace. Has this happened to anyone?sales stopped.png

Sorry to read of this issue has happened to you. Yes I have seen this once several years ago from one of my best selling products. I found that after being on the first page for search for a particular set of tags the product disappeared from the Marketplace overnight. Many people have this story. Zazzle never has an answer.

I'm not saying it may be the same scenario, perhaps it's something different for you. But I feel your pain.

Thank you. The only thing I did was updating the collection photo by slightly reducing the font size to make it look less cluttered, and then 2-3 days later... 0 views.

It's possible that Zazzle changes the algorithm from time to time and that changes product placement. But that is only my guess and I don't think Zazzle would ever share such info with us.

Basically, that's what I was told 😞

You said you have contacted Z - who did you contact? What did they tell you?

I contacted Zazzle through their support page. They said everything seems fine and mentioned I had ONE view yesterday, then talked about basic algorithm factors we already know. I responded that the view was likely from me checking the product page, and it still doesn’t make sense that it dropped to 0 views overnight.

@Echo  Notice something pretty remarkable on your chart: what did you do to have the views jump 1,000% from Dec to Jan?

I don’t even remember. I usually only pay attention when something goes wrong 😆 I know I should monitor things more closely when they start selling and maybe use paid advertising to boost them. A similar thing happened with one of my products on another POD platform. It didn’t sell for 7 months, then suddenly sold 18 in one day and kept selling well for 2 years—until sales completely stopped a month ago.

I sincerely doubt it's due to anything you've done. I've had this sort of thing happen at least a dozen times. I'm pretty sure Zazzle changes up the algorithm from time to time in order to keep the site fresh for customers. I know it's SUPER frustrating when your product goes from consistent sales to nothing - trust me, I know! But in a big picture sense I think it's for the best because if customers were always presented with the same old designs over and over, they wouldn't have much reason to come back. I really don't think there's any way around it - you just have to keep creating lots of quality designs, do your best to promote them, and hope that you'll pop up in the rotation sooner or later.

Hang in there!

Thank you. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Yes, it's very frustrating, but I guess I just have to accept that this is how Zazzle do their things.
