What has caused changes to my designs as displayed in "public" store along with in my end?

My apologies for awkward wording of question.  I am not sure how to ask it.  I was going to work on re-organizing my store (I spend way more time designing!).  When I started doing so, I discovered what appears to be many of my designs have been altered  and left in a semi-finished state.  I decided to check both my public store and "my end"  (what should I call that?)  and the partially done designs appear in both places.  It looks as if maybe a potential customer tried to change a design and just quit before finishing.   Though I have started to leave things unlocked, some older designs  are still locked.  Maybe they tried to change and couldn't so left with a partially designed item??  Wouldn't the design, if locked by me, revert back to MY original design once a customer quit working on it (if indeed this is what occurred?) I am dismayed that so many of my designs are displayed on my public store site in such haphazard  manner.  Any idea from anyone what might be going on?   I would like to show a photo of these designs but do not know how to get a photo into this message.

@Shar-Ken  Are you looking at your member products or your store backend products?

The half finished ones sound like your "work in progresses" under "my products" that are shown on your member page and not your store's backend

Sara_H.   when I am in the "store management" items appear okay.  But, when I go to "public store front" that is where there are all of these items that are in all stages of design but mostly unfinished.  This is where anyone coming to my store would see these.  It would not leave a good impression  ( though I do not think I get many store visits)--still I do not want something changing these and putting on my store front.    I work on an iMac desktop computer so I still do not know how to get a photo uploaded to show here.  I always appreciate your jumping in to help those of us who are not as adept at some things.

Sara_H,  I meant to say that it appears this problem seems to only be with my post cards.  Upon further looking, it is as if a potential customer was working on personalizing these post cards and quit sort of in the middle of things  and my designs did not revert back to their original version.  I always assume that when someone attempts to personalize a design by changing things, that afterwards the design goes back to how it was designed by the creator to look.  I never had this problem in the past that I am aware of, but now I have several post cards that I will have to go back and re-do and re-post for sale--a lot of work.  I am confused about this business of whether to lock things or not or disable customers from making changes  (that new thing that I now see on the design page) and how they differ and should you do either or both.  I bring this up because I wonder

if these changes I discovered of half designed post cards (of cards that were fully designed before) has anything to do with not locking things to prevent this from happening.  I always thought we were encouraged not to lock things so customers could move things around or change them.   I confused now!

I went to your store and I see what you mean. Many of your postcards have images on them that appear to have shrunk! The images only cover a tiny corner of the card with the rest of the card being blank. Some of them correct the image view once you click on them, but some of them do not correct themselves. It looks like an image display problem. You may want to send Zazzle links to several of those problem postcards and have them investigate what is wrong.

Hi DancingPelican,  I am so glad you say you see them.  I thought maybe I was going bonkers.  And when I click on one of them and go to its "page" and click on the various images off to its side (i.e. front, back, inside, etc.), funny things also happen there.  Some of the image choices seem frozen and do nothing and others show the same "shrunken" design as shown on my store front and occasionally one of the image choices will show as it actually should be (as I designed it).  I did report this in the technical forum but not sure anything will come of it.

I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.  I would like to know what caused it and how to rectify it and why only some and not all (thank goodness!) of my postcards are having this issue.    Thanks for responding/

Can you provide a link to one of these problem postcards? I looked at postcards on both your stores and don't see anything amiss.

I clicked to view a few random ones and still didn't see anything unusual.

Hi ColsCreations,   thanks for taking a look at the postcards in my store.  This morning I still see these messed up designs on the post cards category in my public storefront.  Here is a link to my postcards as I am seeing them:

But now when I looked at several by clicking on them, they appear correct at that point.  This was not the case last night.  Still, it is more concerning that they look wrong on the storefront.  Many of these cards are nice designs but no one would ever bother to click on them to see the correct version(if indeed they would be correct--it seems to change from day to day!)   Also someone just replied that they have had a similar problem that involved several categories of designs, so maybe I need to start checking others besides postcards.   When I tried to send you a few examples, all the ones I tried would appear correct when clicked on individually.  But they remain messed up on the store front.    It still seems strange why only some cards are affected.   I just hope they get this glitch fixed soon.  Thank you for assisting, ColsCreations.

I also see a similar problem reported in the technical forum where someone is having a similar issue with their mousepads. The images are shrinking and not filling the product as they once did. Could be related to the problem you are experiencing.

Oh, no  guess I had better start checking my other categories!

This sounds similar to the problem with images shrinking on mousepads that was reported earlier in the day.

Oh, no Jadendreamer13--you mean this glitch is happening to other categories as well?  Now I better start checking on other designs besides postcards.    You mentioned  above how you are going about correcting the blank previews.  But all these corrections take up valuable time that I would much prefer be spent on  designing or optimizing or getting my store organized.   Thanks so much for sharing.

I've been doing a lot of optimizing & seeing the same thing on random products here and there. Mugs, plaques, laptop sleeves, phone cases – all sporadic. I went into product merchandising, reclicked on the view I wanted & then they were fine again. (I think.) Seems like some sort of glitch. Sure hope it corrects itself soon.

I’m also noticing that product previews are showing up blank on some products. I was able to correct them by clicking on the Merchandizing section in the Edit Details option, clicking off of my cover photo, and clicking it again to reload it.

Jadendreamer,  I wanted to come back and share with you that I tried what you did by going into Edit Details and changing the merchandising image and it still did not change it on the public  store front.  I was hopeful that would do the trick even though it would mean spending time going from messed up card to messed up card.  No luck!

Sometimes (but not always), when Zazzle fixes the problem, the products revert back to their regular state. Let’s hope that’s the case with this glitch.

Thank you Marcia for sharing.  You know what they say, "misery loves company"!  I do not wish you problems but I feel better knowing that I am not the only one having this problem.  I was wondering if it was something I did which would be very plausible!  One just wonders how the customers see it when viewing.

@Shar-Ken Unfortunately, I think they see the broken product view. I was on another browser, not logged in I did a search for something. The funky looking products were showing up in the mix. 😐
