Zazzle Puts My T-shirt to "Weddings > Décor & Party Supplies" Department

On Tuesday, I noticed Zazzle (by Zazzle, I mean Zazzle alrigothm) has put some of my listings under the "Wedding" department. For example, this shirt was in: Weddings > Décor & Party Supplies > Party & Shower Supplies > Bridal & Wedding Shower Supplies. That was a big mistake by itself because there's no clothing within the Wedding department, so I moved it to "Clothing & Shoes" where it belongs.

Last night, after reading a post from @MasterpieceCafe , I checked this listing and Zazzle has once again put it back to Weddings > Décor & Party Supplies > Party & Shower Supplies > Bridal & Wedding Shower Supplies, so I switched it back to Clothing & Shoes.

I checked my listing around 7am this morning: Zazzle has so efficiently thrown it back to "Wedding" again.  I changed it back to Clothing & Shoes for the 3rd time, but at this point, I know most likely I'm just wasting my time...

This shirt is an "Evergreen" design. People could buy it for anyone they "LOVE", for any occasion to show "LOVE": Valentines, Mother's Day, friends, teachers, birthday, bridal showers, colleague retirement etc. But when someone purchases this for grandma birthday, friends, or just for themselves, they are actually buying a "Wedding" product, according to Zazzle. Isn't it weird?

I know this happened probably because I had "bridal shower" in the tag.  Zazzle has been emphasising and reminding us creators over and over again how important it is to optimize our listings. Well, while I optimizing my listing with "bridal shower" to reach more potential customers, I was also, unknowingly, optimizing my royalty deduction to 50% in 3rd party sales.  My "Search Engine Optimization" has turned into "Royalty Deduction Optimization."  Wow, did not really see that coming...

So, I mentioned this yesterday. You’ll either have to remove the tags “bridal shower” or “wedding” from your listing, as well as any such reference in your title or description - or stop creating wedding-related items or designs to avoid the seriously excessive Zazzle 50% marketing fee. For me, the choice is easy - I will not be creating any wedding-related designs.

@1234Shine  With your example of where everyone is seeing the WEDDING category, I went back to my two items under the Weddings list at the left and found that they both were changed.

I do not promote weddings in any fashion and would prefer that my products NOT be co-mingled with such items.

What does this have to do with a wedding?

Hilarious. And on an even less serious note, if that's not right for some weddings, maybe my goblins ghosts and ghouls coasters will suit. LOL!

Seems most likely a case of Zazzle AI gone wild, all this re-categorizing to nonsensical places.

Come on over to the dark side.

I have a bunch of "coffee" images that Zazzle put into wedding. No clue why.

And everything I've edited has been changed back to "wedding" ... this is nuts.

Lately I've been noticing lots of my products are ending up in categories that I'm pretty darn sure I didn't put them in.

I also have items categorised under "weddings" that are not supposed to be there, as I mentioned yesterday. Could be tags. If I have a gag which is a cartoon situation between a husband and his wife for example. Yes they'd be a married couple, but nothing to do with weddings as such.

I just found 3 kitchen towels that were in the Wedding Department in the back end - no wedding tags/no bridal shower tags - no mr & mrs tags no tags relating to love or anything. I know I didn't put them there

To move them out - I bulk edited (changed nothing - press done) and they disappeared

They're still showing in the weddings dept on the store front but I'll give it a few days for that to catch up and check again

Very strange.

I've just found that I have many items categorised under "weddings" because I have used the word "best" in the title, description, and tags! Items such as these... 😳 Zazzles "artificial intelligence" is assuming there's a connection with a best-man, I assume.

Just checked my 4th of July coaster (see previous post). and the category I set has stayed. However ... "RELATED SEARCHES" still shows wedding coasters, wedding coasters

@BKMuir  Same with my kitchen towels - so I reckon there is nothing we can edit to remove those tags. Woe betide getting dinged for a 50% wedding department MRF the next time they sell.

Hi @1234Shine - I'm going to try and replicate the issue you're seeing. I changed your product to Clothing and Shoes, so if you notice a change, that was me. Thank you.

I also noticed this on several of my products.  The event/occasion category has also been modified too, which might pull these back into that wedding category.  I don't know why, but several of my photo albums, wrapping paper rolls and sheets were doing this.
