Hello can anyone tell me how to make a collection public again. I used to know how to but now the set up is different and now I seem to be stuck. Thanks ahead of time.

@idraw Thank you so much. It is showing as active yet it was yesterday as well.  I was adding things to it and it was enough to be showing all over. Now I am looking at the collection it is not private now.  Yet this does not answer the question of how to make a collection public after it was made private. Maybe it just does this on its own when you have enough stuff or all items are public. Not sure yet all the same its good to be out of this and thanks so much for all the assitance!

@spring333

settings>advanced settings>customize store>visible sections>collections
you have to move collections from hidden sections to visible sections

Possibly try this: Start from  your store products page, click on collections tab at top,click on the collection that you want to change, under status, see if it shows a button “active” or is inactive. If there is a button “inactive” click on it…maybe that will change the status. Also look to the right where it says “collection status” , that column has buttons, one of them is “inactive” , you may be able to click on “active” to change it from “private”…. I don’t have any inactive or private collections atm, so I can’t check from that avenue.

Hi! From what you said, I think your collection has enough items. The same thing happened to me recently; it was a new collection, I didn’t hide it—I never hide them—and I knew I would be adding items in the following days. I couldn’t find the button to make it public, neither in that collection nor in others. As soon as I added more items, it automatically became public, or at least that’s how it seemed to me, so I haven’t worried about it since. I don’t know if this will help you.

@Mariholly I am thinking that must be the case is it just makes itself public when it feels a need but that is sorta confusing because I did actively make the collection private and then could not find how to change that. It seems to have worked itself out so now all is good maybe in the future do not make collections private just items?
