how do i set a product as preferred in a given collection

I'm sure there is any easy answer, I just don't know right now what it is -- I want to designate a new collection as the preferred place for several products.  How do I do that?

@VivianD117 I think it only works with certain types of wedding cross sell types (could be wrong tho)

Not all collection types are equal.

Just don't put them in any other collections then then auto become the preferred one 🤣😂🤣

I think that means I go back to the old-fashioned approach — since some need to be in more than one collection — I remove it from the one it was in first and then replace it — making the new collection the “preferred” one.  There has got to be a better way.

This does seem to be an option only available in cross-sell collections but if you enter the 'manage custom -ungrouped product sort' and then hover over one of the products in your collection, a little black circle with 3 dots appears offering a drop down menu where one of the options is 'make preferred collection'.

Hi all,

Just to to add to the information that has already been shared here, this article may be of some help.

The fastest way I found doing it is to navigate to the edit collection page, and click on the product that has the yellow/orange "i". When the menu opens, click the "..." in the top right corner and then select "make preferred collection".

If it is successful, the yellow/orange "i" should disappear.
