Color Differences Foil Invitations vs Regular

I'm not sure if it's just the different previews, but there is quite a big color shift between the foil invitations and the regular invitations. Here's an example of a burgundy background on the back of each- I used the same exact hex code, and in the Design Tool the color looks the same. But on the actual invitation previews, there is a big difference! How do I know which one is the "right" color?

Hi @Connie,

I've reached out to our Team about this now and will provide an update when I can!

Thank you!

Hi @Connie,

Our team have advised that this is an expected difference. The paper type used for foil cards is different to that of regular cards. Foil cards use the Premium White paper type.

There is no Premium White paper type for regular cards.

You will notice that when changing the paper type, the background color will change ever so slightly.

Thanks!

@Mark OK, thank you for confirming this. So is it best just to go by the color INSIDE the design tool, to make sure I match the elements and have the "correct" shade, and not worry about how the preview looks? Or should I judge the shade by the preview, and use a different hex code for regular vs. foil?

What I am learning from all these posts is that different paper types produce very different colors - even if we use the same hexcode. This really doesn't surprise me and I had sort of figured that out on my own. Since there are no rsvp cards with that matching paper, it is unrealistic that the colors will match exactly.
