Designing Spiral Planners and Notebooks

I originally posted this in the Questions category, and then later realized this is the more appropriate category, so I'm moving it here.

I am designing spiral notebooks and planners with a fairly large framed photo on the front as part of the design. I am wondering what the rule of thumb is for 1) centering the framed photo or 2) placing the framed photo slightly to the right to allow for the spiral rings? When I center the design it doesn't look quite right; but when I move the design over to the right just a smidge, centering it in the area without the spiral rings, it still doesn't look quite right.

It's hard to tell how it's actually going to look because the product preview images are not always 100% accurate. So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the rule of thumb or standard placement is for this type of design?

@smkshopsThere is no rule of thumb 😂. We're told to take whatever is in the design tool as far as centering goes but I agree - it does look off in the previews

I think the only way to be 100% happy with the placement is to design one for yourself and purchase it so you get a feel of how it will be printed then you'll know
