Using College Names and Insignias.

Doe's anyone know if it is infringement to use college names on graduation items??

Yes it is, unfortunately. I would recommend making a template where the customer can type the name of the University.

Indeed it is. Even state run Colleges and Universities generally own all of the rights to their names, logos etc. You'll find official stores here for many.

I have an ID badge/card set up specifically for universities and school and I get a lot of cancellations from individuals, which I assume are students who lost their original ID card. About an hour after they order they get cancelled because of what I assume is the use of the universities name and logo.

My template is setup to be for schools and universities as an organization to supply their students with ID's. I did not even think that individual people would use it, but many try and many fail.

It absolutely is. I got into a lot of trouble 2 years ago & had my products pulled just for using college names in the template sections of my products, even though they were going to be replaced by the customer.

This is good to know. I also made this mistake of using college names, awhile back.  rebeccawang offers a good idea about making a template.
