July is Disability Pride Month. This month was established to commemorate the passing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in July 1990. The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
The goal of Disability Pride Month is to recognize the contributions of people living with disabilities and promote inclusion and diversity within our society.
