Dear Creators,

We would like to address an important matter that has recently come to our attention regarding royalties for framed prints. In early April this year, we updated our framed print offerings, and a mistake in how we categorized the frames has caused some problems with royalty calculations.

Frames are defined as “Accessories” in our Creator License Agreement, but were accidentally characterized as “Upcharges” in our system during the refresh. Since Upcharges receive a 5% royalty, while Accessories are not eligible for royalties, this resulted in a net overpayment to some Creators for framed prints since the refresh. In instances where Creators were overpaid, we will honor the existing calculations and make no adjustments.

While there were a few cases of underpaid royalties, primarily when substantial discounts were applied to purchases, overall, Creators received an extra 5% royalties for the past five months on frames, which often cost three times the price of the print itself. If we have identified you as one of the Creators who were underpaid, you will receive the amount of any underpayment based on your payment settings as a separate, one-time payment. To ensure you receive this payment, please ensure all of your account payment settings are up to date by September 29th. In cases where we are unable to process payments due to incomplete payment settings, any royalties owed will be issued as a gift certificate after September 29th.

We understand the importance of compensation for your Content, and we are taking steps to resolve this issue and prevent it from happening in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and continued dedication to our Creator Community.

Warm regards,

The Creator Team
