Earning Page Not Fitting on Screen

kashmier

The first thing I check out is my account page and today the total and last column are cut off of the page. The size of the links on the left is still small but the information in the table is too big and being cut off even on a large screen laptop. I know that the page was just updated so that is probably the culprit in why this is happening. I never have luck with tables fitting.   Thanks

This is not a bug, but I'm curious how other people feel.

Win 10 laptop @ 1920 x 1080 display res set to 100% scale instead of the system recommended 125%, using Firefox browser.

I like it. I used to need to increase my browser zoom level to at least 133% to make the Earnings Summary and Royalty History pages easy to make out the numbers at a glance. I don't need to do that now, can easily make things out without increasing page zoom. I especially like that the numbers on the All line on the Summary page are bolded as the All number of total credits is the main thing I quickly look at (always hoping it's increased since I last looked 😉).

All of the reports fit on my screen just fine w/ ample white space on both sides of the page. I had to reduce my browser window size down to 1100px for the right side of the data to start getting cut off.

On mobile phone (Android, using Firefox for Mobile browser)  - totally new look here!

While I like the handy new reports section with menus you can expand/collapse, I think it's unnecessarily big. My first reaction last night was whoaaa that's can't-miss-this huge!  If I open any of the reports, I have to scroll over to the right to see anything past the product sold column. Not a big deal to me as I generally only use my phone to quick look at that All credits number on the Summary page. But because that's what I most look at on mobile, I'd prefer the huge report menu to be below the summary, because now I have to scroll down past that section to see the Summary table.

Thanks, @Scott
This was a substantive change. While I like the bold text with the + signs on mobile, I'm worried that the lighter font in the tables is harder to read on some devices. There's also a lot more scrolling involved. It's been workable for me, but my two cents is it'd be nice to have less text above the table.

Can the explanatory text at the top that describes green, blue, and gray, e.g. for Pending Earnings & Transactions, Cleared Earning & Transactions be moved below the main Credits & Debits Table, like a chart key? The most important info for most people is the actual numbers, and now that's harder to get to and see. I also think "Earning & Transactions" is redundant when repeated for Pending, Cleared, & All. Here's a visual for it:

Thanks so much!

@Scott Why did this page have to change to begin with? Please leave stuff alone that is fine and start with the endless list of serious bugs (like with what is now supposed to be the "design tool", the broken search function and landing pages on the site, just to name a few). There is nothing to be gained from change just for the sake of change.

I will be the first to admit I'm not someone who likes change, but as a design professional with a degree in publication design and information graphics, after a few days of engaging with this I know I'm having a hard time actually taking in the information. It's not just that it's different and I need to adjust - it's visually more difficult to consume the information presented. On the desktop version, it's just a big gray blur and a glance and my eye doesn't know where to go. It could benefit from more contrast, more structure and a little less air. I'm a big fan of white space in stationery design but data presentation should be tighter and more structured. The alignment of the columns is wonky too. The mobile version is too many clicks. It was much tidier and easier access previously. I hope this feedback is helpful and taken as intended - not as criticism and an "I don't like it" but constructive as far as why it's not working as well for us now. Thanks, Scott!

I tried to really pay attention today to where my eyes go first when I call up the page and it's the city. Like... probably the least important stat provided there. The design title is actually the hardest thing on the page to read.

I agree the date/time and name/location are the thing I see most. To me the most important things to see are:
- Product Name
- Product Type
- Was Is Transferred & To What
- And $$
(possibly also which store for many people)

Also... I noticed today that the superscripts "C" for "Customized" and "T" for "Transferred" are only showing up on the very shortest of design titles. I have had to go into the 'eye' flyout to see what's what. Good grief! Unless all that extra space that's now included per entry is actually going to be used to provide us with real information, useful information, information we've requested such as actual royalty percentage realized on a sale, info on third-party transactions, reason(s) for cancellations, etc. etc., then what's the point?

I don't really like it. It needs to be the way it was. It was smaller, condensed and darker and easier to read before.

Mine fit on screen but it's so hard to read. Please bring back the contrast.

@Scott - since you asked. It's a big downgrade IMHO. This is what I see: There's so much garbage at the top of the screen, plus everything is soooo spaced out, that I can only see 1.5 rows of data before I have to start scrolling - and there's so much space between rows that you have to scroll forever just to get any meaningful information. Not a fan.

I can see three rows w/o having to scroll but I agree with too much stuff at top taking up vertical screen space. We're checking earnings, we're not customers shopping who need all that stuff at top of page. Would like to see all these headers removed from our earnings/report pages.

Absolutely agree on way too much spacing/padding. Even on a 24" Desktop I have to scroll now. I don't think we as designers need the color descriptions at top, I think most already know that. Maybe they could just have the 'Pending' for example in the gray box, and a little 'hover over' to see the description. I actually liked how condensed and size the old one was, it was quicker to see things.

Also on the summary page, it feels like the 'current balance' is lost.

I just don't understand why each transaction on the Earnings Report needs to take up 5-6 lines double spaced - which makes it so you can only fit a few transactions on each page. Like I wish it could be set up to collapse all of the info on the left (store, product, and whatever those two numbers are) so that it could fit more transactions on a page without having to scroll forever to see how your daily sales are doing.

I'm hoping that this is just step one in a bigger re-design and maybe it will make more sense later. But I do find it somewhat annoying that all of the many functional things we asked for in terms of royalty reports (ability to get daily/weekly/monthly totals, ability to easily see what was cancelled etc.) seem to have been ignored in favor of a big visual layout change that benefits no one.

I don't get a bar to scroll, I have to resize the entire window to see everything. I do agree about all the garbage  at the top. Every time I try to open a link to do something on a page I must go just a mm to high and the huge white top of the page Z links drops down and I have to do it over. I think there should be a different a site setup for creators who work on the site. We can just open a page incognito to see what the shoppers see. I have to do that to see if things are showing up right in the layout of the stores anyway because if your logged in it looks different. They could have an option for creators to opt into having basic pages while working.  The problems with the design tool are too many to list. It is a learning thing that changes as soon as you learn something. Lately I noticed that under fonts the favorite list is gone and there is just not enough room to work using those little boxes. The effects when doing print is almost impossible to find what you want to work on. When colors are involved I get totally lost. Also the shadow effect is messed up. If I use it and turn it off to see if it is needed It will not turn back on.   Sorry to much to go on.

Unbelievably my page got worse. It looks a lot like yours. Chrome on Win 10 laptop @ 1920 x 1080 display res set to 100% scale. Any estimated time when this will be fixed? The column with links at left is the original way the entire page used to look. Now I can not see everything on opening page and barely see one item in relevant information area.  This does not include the lines at the top. When I open the page I can not see any of the sales information.

The colors are too light (gray, blue, pink) & not as easy to read at a quick glance. Way too much space vertically for each line item. On an iPhone, I have to scroll horizontally to see the complete sale info for royalty reports. Also, summary page doesn’t completely fit on my phone screen & I need to reduce it. Yet another step.
Why was this even tinkered with? It was FINE as is. As it was mentioned above, there are way too many other things on this site that are broken & need to be addressed after months & months of complaints. Again, why?

I have the same look as the author of the post. I am on iPhone 15. I can scroll to the right but it’s somewhat uncomfortable although I don’t have too many earnings so I have nothing to look at 😄

The text is way to light and the fonts are way to big. It is difficult to see, read and it cuts off on the left side of the screen. I'm not a fan of it.

I hope it's just a bug and not intentional, because seriously- what is the point in making important data more difficult to read?

At the very least, I hope they bring back some of the contrast in the color key. The green is is barely perceptible.

Hi Creators - Thanks for flagging this. When we migrated those pages, some unexpected changes happened. Your feedback went straight to the team, and updates/improvements are in progress. Changes should be reflected within the next few days if not sooner.

Thank you, @Heather

I just spent some time trying to use the alignment drop down that was used to size the images. I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the top bar and easy to use. I am glad to find one very good addition to make working easier. On the down side the accounts page is still a very bad layout. I have to reduce the size of the page to be able to see the entire table but then the links on the left side are very tiny. Will this be addressed and when can we expect to see it?

Now with the latest update, the “summary” page doesn’t all fit on my iPhone & now I have to scroll horizontally to see the entire visual. Please fix! And there’s still minimal contrast between the green, gray & white. 😬

My summary page fits on the page still, same as before, except it used to be so much more legible!

This new look is terrible and very bad on the eyes!!  I don't want to have to end up with special glasses from my eyes getting ruined by this!  On my Samsung phone which I'm on trying to see and type this (and this new terrible look also affects my Samsung tablet) I now have an "extremely" hard time seeing the thinner, lighter gray fonts and they are much "smaller" now very tiny, and the background is brighter, and on product pages and earnings pages, etc. same thing, and as mentioned before in another post extremely hard reading anything now or seeing what's green or pink or blue shaded via earnings summary reports because those colors are now too light now!  Even this forum am having a very hard time seeing the very tiny, thin and light gray text!  Now I have to Zoom In A Lot just to try and "see" and read anything, BUT still even doing that  everything is so fine and light so I still have a hard time seeing/reading anything!  This is going to ruin the eyes from straining too much!

Who thought this was a good idea to play around with this now?  It's very bad for the eyes, and very frustrating!  Why did the font have to get so very small and thin now, and why such a light gray against a bright background now?

Why can't the font be a thicker, normal size and black so it's much more legible on all the site pages, and also bring back the darker green, blue and pink colors like they were before in the earnings summary and report pages...

Please bring back the old layout at least so we can see everything more clearly again!  And please stop messing with things that weren't broken.  Thank you.

I've been away for a week & a half so this morning was the first time I got to see these changes on my iMac. UGH! Seems like the pink, gray & green colors are even lighter than on my phone. The typeface is too thin. Because of this, there's optically little separation between the sales. It's hard to quickly scan the royalty page as before the changes. It's hard on the eyes.

Anne
Honored Contributor

@zazzle, what exactly is the problem in bringing back the old lay-out? It is my understanding that the earning page is intended only for designers, who clearly indicated the new situation does not work.

Anne Vis Icon

I wholeheartedly agree with @Anne.

And things seem to be going from bad to even worse. Now the design titles, though larger, run right up against/into the referral column (with still no superscript Cs or Ts indicated), making all those 3rd-party sales even harder to see at a glance. C'mon, Zazzle, designing a new, though unnecessary, legible, and informative table isn't rocket science!

The columns running together is still any issue, especially the first two.

It looks far worse than this in the actual list since it's smaller and far more surrounding text.

Plus, I neglected to add I'm on a huge iMac screen with ample horizontal white space on either side of my browser window, so it's obviously not making use of dynamic scaling, as it should. There should be no reason that the cutoff product title and 3rd party are squished together.

I had a sale today, so checked my view to see if expanding the window (usually have my working view about 1/3 of screen) to see if it would expand the column width.  It did by about 3 letters. I now see the "c" for customized, that was lost with the non-wrapped columns (they were wrapped before, right?).
