I second this. It's light years ahead of the old forum software that was so outdated. It's packed with so many great features one can use, or not. Since I am a big believer in "a picture is worth a thousand words" when trying to explain a problem or solution, I love that we can so easily add an image to posts now. And the Threaded view was much needed, makes it so easy to see who/what a reply is directed to now. Also, I sometimes browse the forum from my phone to pass the time when I am on my break at work and the old forum was really frustrating as it wasn't, uh, responsive? to the small screen size. Would have to zoom way way in to read posts (which then required scrolling horizontally, even with phone in landscape mode) and then un-zoom back out to get to the breadcrumb links or the "mark all read" or page number navigation. This new forum is much more phone-friendly, don't have to zoom at all to read posts. (It would be nice though if there was a floating "back to top" button as there is more vertical scrolling involved now. ) I also like that it's created a clean slate, so posts with info/advice that's years out of date can no longer be found/brought up. I can also see that behind the scenes, it's providing a much better way for the Z team to monitor & analyze feedback/issues being reported and maybe I'm imagining it but seems like there's been an uptick in replies by Mods/Community Managers so maybe monitoring things here has become less of a chore for them now.
So yeah, great job to the Z team for implementing this. 👍
* My only real complaint is that the default post text is impossibly tiny for me and I have to zoom every single page to read any post content. Oh, also not being able to make a simple line break in a post irks me to no end but as someone said, I guess it's just a flesh wound. 😉
