Keychain Mockups with No Holes

I need some advice. In one of my stores I created a LOT of keychains with text that went around the circle. They were some of my best sellers.  Unfortunately, when Zazzle changed keychains to the ones with a hole at the top, my keychains looked terrible.  There were holes through the words.  My sales plummeted.  Partly because who wants a missing word.  And, partly because competitors were uploading mockups for keychains that had no holes.  So, of course, people would opt for theirs.  I think it's misleading and unfair to use a different keychain style for a mockup.  I wrote to Zazzle about this about 6 months ago, so, I'm assuming they don't mind as nothing has changed.  What would you do?  Use the actual keychain style, or, one without a hole for the cover photo?

I had a few designs that were messed up when they discontinued the button keychains. I ended up just changing them to the premium round style - large size. They're significantly more expensive than the old ones were, but since it's a change you can make under product merchandising, they didn't lose their marketplace ranking and they do continue to sell. I haven't had time to make mockups of them yet.

The problem now is not just the hole, now they are double sided. Wanting to keep the ones you already have, I would change in the Product Merchandising Options, to Premium Round and I would make new ones considering the hole and double sided design. Just my opinion 🙂

I hadn't even thought about this, so I just now took a look. When I get the chance, I'll be deleting those not worth bothering with (haven't sold), and for the others, I might give a try to moving the text and using the replace function. Then there are those where the top of the design is blocked. I might, as @chriiisss  has suggested, change the style, but only if they've sold. One more "little" thing to deal with.

I agree.  I'm sure that most people didn't even think of changing their mockups. LOL... Hole, no hole.  I think I'm just a perfectionist.  For all I know maybe my keychain sales slumped because my designs were old, or, there were better ones.  Maybe it has nothing to do with the keychain change?  I'm going to stop obsessing over the change and just create new and better designs.  Thanks for your input.

That's what I will start doing too.  I didn't feel right about using a different image for the old keychain.  I can also modify my designs to work with the hole.  I will just view it all as change is a good thing. It keeps me on my toes, a chance to improve on old designs. Have a great day.

Thank you all for the great suggestion.  I will make some of them premium without the hole.
