Hi all, while I would love to tell you that this has been released to all Creators, this is not the case. We're getting clarification on what permissions were rolled out when this was turned back on as there is some allowances active that we're just not ready for yet. Don't give up hope though as we are actively working on scaling this to the wider community in hope's we can let you all use it, but just not yet. I will follow up once I have more info. Thanks.

I hope it’s true. I can’t see it using Zazzle on my iPhone.

Hi @MOM @Jadendreamer13  I only noticed it a few hours ago on Desktop, Chrome.

Here's an update : This feature is showing in Flat Holiday cards only and not on other products yet, as I have checked again by making some minor changes in text and design.

Let's hope positive and wait for some more time to see what happens next 🙂

@WeshaOh, I'm so hoping now!! I usually work in Firefox and only use other browsers to check my work. Thanks so much for posting and giving us a heads-up for this possible improvement.

And please give an update when you see this feature on Holiday card and other products 🙂

That's great news! I was one of those privileged ones, and I saw it came back yesterday after the holiday break. I hope the issues it caused have also been resolved. When a design is modified, a new design is created and placed in the "Saved Designs" folder until it is approved. Sometimes it was duplicated, triplicated, or even more, and you couldn't delete them. I used a cross for my funeral invitation designs, and suddenly that cross appeared with a square around it, which was very unattractive aesthetically. I corrected all the designs… I thought I was going crazy… It's possible there are still some left in that folder that I couldn't delete.

Hi @Mariholly I used to think that any change/update made is published immediately , but they are saying 5 day review time and the old design is up in the meanwhile ! Is the new design saved in the regular 'Saved design' folder with other saved designs ? I don't find it there ....🤔

Also please let me know if this feature is available on all products ? Like I tried to update the text and photo of an old mug, and it's showing the 'Sell it' option only ... so, a little confused.

@Wesha

If you look at your products, it should appear marked for review, but customers will see the unmodified design. Once the change is approved, you'll have one version in your "Saved Designs" folder and another, already modified, replacing the original in your store. You need to manually delete the one in "Saved Designs." And that's what caused many problems in the past. Be careful, you won't be able to make significant changes—only minor adjustments like forgetting to add a text or photo as a template, removing a filter from a photo, or fixing a typo, nothing that alters the design.

Thanks a lot @Mariholly to share these very helpful info. 🙂

I refurbished a foil holiday postcard for replacement that was foil on white and I felt I'd poorly designed: so I changed card background to black, changed the text font on Happy New Year, added additional template names below Happy New Year, added more foil element lines between photos & reduced the number of my art png star spatters I had used previously, so it looked less cluttered. Silver foil on black--it looked spiffy. Submitted it for replacement and, to my surprise, it was accepted as a replacement nearly immediately! (I just refurbished an existing product, but it was extensive refurbishing and they apparently liked it.)

Now, I also submitted a holiday card the same day with just a simple photo change, because I thought the new photos made the product more appealing for customers. It sat in review for 2 days before reviewers decided, "Nah, not worth it" and rejected my bid for replacement. SO there is absolutely NO guarantee your replacement submission will be accepted. Reviewers WILL judge whether your changes make the item worth replacing! 🙃

I find the replacement tool available for some of my holiday cards and postcards and not others. It seems entirely random.

That does not seem like a small change it is a different design. They will never authorize it. Only small changes: you forgot to align some text. You forgot to create templates. You want to change the sample photo... They only allow things like that.

(shrug)

My words perhaps didn't reveal how truly small the changes to the card were. They sound expansive. But the design remained the same, the layout exactly the same, photos unchanged. I only adjusted minor adjustable elements already present in the design. It was nothing really.

, added additional template names below Happy New Year

That is truly surprising that was accepted as a Replace because since pretty much Day One of the feature coming out, everyone has been saying that you can not add new template fields. That plus adding more elements and changing background color - sounds like you slipped through the cracks on that one going through. 😉

It is not available on everything. You have to check product to product to see if the replace button is available for that item.
I've tried replacing several items. It goes to a review. And the thing is, during review those Z admin people JUDGE my submission for "worthiness" to be replaced. 🤔 I've had 2 things rejected, which means they are unchanged. I was quite disappointed. I felt the photo change made my holiday card look so much better--which to me meant more sell, but but they did not deem so.😕  If my creative muse decides a photo change or a design element change might make my product more appealing to attract better sales, then I think it ought to be replaced free and clear. I think them judging the worthiness of my replacement submission for replacement rather stinky. I hope, when the replacement tool is finished testing and available that it's use will also be unrestricted and no more judging worthiness of replacement changes.

The rules with the replace tool are that you can only make minor changes that do not change the overall appearance. They want to make sure it will look the same if a returning customer saw it again. So things like fixing a text template, safety line fixes, spelling errors, etc.

Good news, but seems to appear only on products created after January the 4th of 2025 on my side.
hope they will generalize it.

It seems to be rolled out now and I'm SO pleased to be able to use it! It's allowing me polish up previously created holiday card designs and refresh sample photos.

@BevStuff   I don't see it? How can you tell?

You will see this after you replace a "placeholder image," or change a date or text on a product. Zazzle will only approve small changes like that.

I want to add that I didn't find the replace tool available on everything in store, but lucked into it being open on a couple things I wanted to fix. Clearly still in testing phase. Use it and product goes to a review, which is probably part of that testing evaluation.  If it's available, it will show as a button under the sell button when you edit an existing published product.

Can't wait to have this feature back.  I thought I'd lost the privilege because I was fixing minor issues on products.  I did a lot in a few weeks.  Just hoping it comes back.  It's wonderful.

Hmh. I had no idea the feature wasn't available to all designer accounts... Feel as though I've taken it for granted now.
