Hello Zazzle, I'm addressing this again, because it's n o t ...b e i n g ...a d d r e s s e d ....!!!
Dear Zazzle & Moderators...
I have not forgotten about this issue.
Please take action to remove the "overlay on front home page store banners".
The banners on collections are fine & we do appreciate your respect.
My store should be how I want it to appear, not how Zazzle thinks it should appear.
Let me help. Send this message to the coding html website dept team.
They know exactly "how to remove it". They "coded it in".
In the meantime, I'm going to educate myself on how to remove it.
This is a very serious issue and feel that my design is being disregarded and disrespected.
Please don't be insensitive to designers and keep putting this issue off. Bring it up in the next meeting.
Zazzle improving on other issues does not make up for the lack of addressing this one.
Please!

This is an image that depicts that the "profile banner overlay" was in fact coded in, and can be coded out😁

Good luck, I've been harping on this one each year since Zazzle implemented their change.
If you've coded the gradient out (which would be very surprising) I can't see a change yet.

@LMGildersleeve
Hello☺ Maybe we will get somewhere soon.
The "coding out" cannot be reversed or resolved as a whole, but, ...
there are "tools" out there for "individual changes", still checking into this, but can be done.
Not trying to start a war, but...just trying to gain a voice of respect here on this platform and for other designers. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend!!!☺

Surely any changes you make will only be visible to you? I doubt you'd be able to 'access' Zazzle's design program and expect if you could it would be a no no?

No ..lol..I'm not a hacker. and the changes would only effect my store front, & no other store would be effected and yes, still experimenting, but where there is a will, there is a way, and yes, surprisingly, there are coding tools available to make changes again, to clarify, only to my store, but the effect will be seen by all those visiting my store., i.e, all across the web. I have, and everyone has a right to show their store how they want it to be represented, so this is my own personal preference, but, you, or others may want to keep the gradient.
What would be fair is for Zazzle to allow store owners to opt in or out of this option, and plus, I did find there is also an additional "photo blur" effect that has been added as well. Zazzle is not the enemy here, and I'm not either, I'm just trying to stand ground for what is right , and what is wrong.
Thanks!

This is expected behavior, so I'm moving the conversation to General.

The reason for the gradient is likely the overlay text, which is white and which would disappear on any banner that's white or extremely light on the bottom third. Switching the text from white to black would solve nothing because there are banners with very dark or black backgrounds. All other colors would also present problems depending on the background. It would seem Zazzle early on spotted this problem and came up with a solution.
