Sales suddenly end.

I am wondering why my sales ended a few months ago suddenly. I do not sell a lot. But for years I had some sales every week. Some were pretty good. Then a month or two ago it all ended. I went in and cleaned up my store to remove items that were not moving. I made it clean and lean.

Anyone have thoughts on why sales end so suddenly?

I suppose it depends on what you're selling. If you offer seasonal items or holiday items, then you're bound to have fluctuations in your sales figures. Another reason could be economic. Many customers have a tighter budget at the moment and are less likely to splurge on "frivolous" things. Thirdly, the competition is fierce! You are competing with an extremely large number of sellers nowadays, and therefore it takes much more effort to be noticed in the marketplace.

A couple months ago Zazzle strongly encouraged people to start making cover photos and implied they would be showing favoritism in their promotions and page placement to products with cover photos. It sounds like your sales dropoff happened right at that time. I advise making cover photos for at least some products and to prioritize those products that have sold in the past to rescue them from falling too much in the algorithm. It's impossible to do cover photos for everything but it's a good idea to do it for some things.

@KeegansCreation I've made cover photos for things that have previously sold - and according to my store front popularity - hasn't made a jot of difference and they're still languishing at the bottom last few pages of my stores.

Products that haven't sold that I've added a cover photo to seem to gain and move up on my store front popularity.

Perhaps Z want fresh new products (don't they always 😂) with cover photos.
