I’ve been designing Pickleball paddle patterns for a while, and I got curious tonight to just see how far down I had to search, before any of my designs showed up on search. So I just searched for the term Pickleball paddle, and started going through page by page. I was surprised to start seeing paddles that had no designs. They were just pure white and some more just a color. And they actually had no titles either. And there were a lot of them. And then to my surprise I got to the very end of something like page 12 and it stopped, yet there’s something like 67,000 pickle ball paddle patterns, but it stops at page 12 and doesn’t show any more pages. Needless to say none of mine ever showed up. yet there are clearly untitled and undesigned paddles there. is this typical of search on Zazzle?

This has been happening a lot. There are some threads about it. https://community.zazzle.com/t5/general-zazzle-discussion/marketplace-glitch-or-unique-design-not-su...

So here's an example where over 7 white paddles without any title besides the default "Pickleball Paddle" show up on page 6!! Then the second example shows the search for over 67,000 items available, stops on page 12. This seems a bit wrong to me. The Zazzle search term is just "Pickleball Paddle". I assume everyone else is getting similar results, or it it just me?

is there an accepted way to get bugs like this to the attention product development team at Zazzle? I see on other posts some Zazzle monitor posts now and then, but is there a bug thread somewhere we're supposed to use for this?

It's not a bug. They are accounts who are creating them. You have to report the designs for violating terms of service.

I'm probably missing something or not saying what I was thinking correctly (or these stores you're mentioning have a way to spam or circumnavigate the algorithms). But in general I'm not worried that a creator created a white paddle, or mug or whatever. I'm not concerned the title says "mug" or "Pickleball Paddle". Anyone is free to create whatever design they want, and free to put whatever titles and tags they want. My concern which I'm calling a "bug" though it's quite possibly actually designed this way for some unknown reason to me, but I believe the design of the algorithm is not well thought out. There are at least two major issues as I see it.
1. Zazzle is in charge of what/who's stuff gets seen. This is their responsibility IMHO. Thus, they state we need to have good titles, descriptions, and tags to even get seen and sure, fair enough. They failed here as these products have NOTHING in the title at all. Just the default Zazzle added product name. They don't fit their own criteria for being returned on search results, so seems like a bug to me. They shouldn't be returned over of the many other products that have everything up to snuff. Sure, give them to the customer on page 999 or whatever but not page 6.
2. Zazzle has limited the amount to search returns on this user input of "Pickleball Paddle" where they themselves say there are over 67,000 items in the search result, while only showing 12 actual pages of returns. I call that a bug, but it can be a feature as well. But IMHO it's a bad user experience to limit the search pages to only 12 while saying the amount available is actually 67,000. How is a user supposed to find them then?
I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, just trying to figure out who's supposed to get this kind of "bug" reporting so they can look into it. If they decide to do nothing, well OK but then there isn't much use for me to design any more paddles as they will never be seen it seems.

As for how users can find the items, it is my hope that most users will know they can find an entirely different set of results by adding another search term. "Blue Pickleball Paddles" or "funny pickleball paddles", for example. Maybe Zazzle could use some of the marketing money they are raking in, to add some coaching instructions which could appear during customer search activity, thus guiding customers to find more of the good stuff on this website.
