Selling blank products on zazzle

Hi creators.

I just came across an account that seems to be selling mostly blank products - I mean not even solid color ones - totally blank. And this is Pro Bronze Creator. Is it really that simple? I starting to doubt in all I know about this platform. Despite all my efforts I am only Pro. I am really confused right now. Do people really buy those products from creators and not directly from zazzle?

I’m not even a Pro, lol. I checked and he actually offers text areas for people to customize. How bold and smart. Yup, we are all overthinking the issue. Makes total sense kinda what he does.

I feel like total looser now. I would never even think about something like this.

Nether would I. I have seen his website domain is up for sale for 500 bucks on a GoDaddy branded site (it’s actually a domain name with potential) and I thought at first he might has run out of steam but I was wrong!! He has created 154 of the new cutting boards - all with identical design it seems and misleading titles (I didn’t look to closely, just scanned through it now). He’s basically spamming the Zazzle market place. And I put so much thought and effort into my couple of cutting boards, rofl. Yes, he definitely is playing hard here. He could even be working out of one of those scam centers in India and be a team actually. Wow - again!! 🤯

Ok, my imagination is taking off now but still. Wow!! 😳

Ok, not 154 identical cutting boards, they (at one point just morph into calling cards, lol. He must have renamed the collection to get faster situated in the cutting board market. Oh boy. That’s quite something, rofl.

Wow, that's a lot of cutting boards and calling cards. I'm working on a shop that's oversaturated the rubber stamps and postcards market. This issue is such a disappointing sham.

Please report these spam listings!

I have noticed that one of this blank product stores, does have text fields. But they are not placed on the product. They are off to the side. So if a customer tries to customize it, they don't see anything happening.

@CrazyMermaid  @James  Which is really bad for all of us (including Zazzle) too because then that customer will think that the Zazzle website is broken. 👎🏽

But I have to say that I have come across a couple of stores (three in fact - the last one just minutes ago) where the single color design has been placed on products with care and thought and it’s well presented so it appears curated and not spammy. I don’t mind such a store that much as long as they aren’t overdoing it with manyfold times over posting the same product etc. and key word spam on top of it.

@MOM  @Dba  did you notice that dude's personalization doesn't even work on some of the products? I tried personalizing magnets and it didn't work out as it should. what luck I must say!

I did not pay so much attention cause I was shocked. I reported some spammy designs, but I dont think Zazzle will do anything with an account that actually is selling more than some of us

A while back Zazzle said they would be taking down those blank products, since they compete directly with Zazzle's own blank products. Somehow this guy seems to be thwarting the system. The only thing we can do is report irrelevant and spam listings.

Hi all, thanks for continuing this conversation. We appreciate your feedback on this subject but please remember that we don't want to you identify anyone's account on the Community as per the Guidelines.

Please continue reporting via the product page and our team will review in time. Thanks.

What's the best way to report an entire store that's nothing but blanks?

@James
Many people do report them and nothing happens. That is why there has been quite a few threads about this issue during the summer.

If nothing happens to these shops, why should we bother reporting them over and over again? One would very easily come to the conclusion that either the review team don't bother with this sort of reports or that Zazzle as a company do not care.

Another consequence is that since they are allowed to stay, people think this is OK because "others do it". If we all should start stores for solid color products, what would that make Zazzle marketplace look like?

@James  @MaggieA     I have come across a creator who joined 2025 and is running currently 8 stores of which the biggest store of that person has (as of tonight) a whopping 16682 products listed - most are simply solid colored ones. The shocking thing to me is that the oldest item in that persons biggest store was posted on 8/1/2025 (and I do understand now that Zazzle doesn't display more than 1024 items per store). But that means that person has created 1024 products in just eleven days (that's over ninety listings a day by this creator for just this one store). How boring will the Zazzle market place be by the end of 2025? I truly wished Zazzle would put a certain limit on uni colored items per store or creator.

PS: I also wonder what Zazzle's policy is for key words in foreign languages - as an example “modern and customizable” (on the Dot Com domain but written in Japanese)? Zazzle's search display's no results with this input but perhaps they are Google magnets? I wouldn't know frankly.

16,000 products in half a year 😳 that's insane

Right!  How is it even possible?  And without Quick Create here anymore for a number of years.  Many talented designers have been here for many years and never designed on that many items, nor reached the higher selling status as some of them have!  Big scamming is going on with a lot of those types of stores gaming the system!  How has Zazzle allowed it all this time?  And how did who knows how many of them already reach Bronze, Silver or higher selling levels from their spam stores?  So many have reported spam items/stores for quite some time now, but nothing has been done.  What if every designer did what the spammers have been doing to garner so many big sales and higher earnings?  Very discouraging!

@James I have probably reported ~3,000+ desgns, most of which have not been removed, over the past several months. Other creators have done this, too. This method is not working.

I also have a list, which I have not shared publicly, of about 22 shops selling completely blank designs. We can't possibly report them all. And apparently, at least 7, probably many more,  creators with normal shops are seeing the potential results and jumping in with "Create Your Own" blank collections.

This issue is getting worse, and not better, and it's a horrible look for Zazzle. Customers might often confuse these designs with the real Zazzle template, and Zazzle has stated this is not allowable. Also, the Designs you might like feaature is proliferating with blank templates. Meanwhile, these shops are racking up royalities with thousands of dollars of sales -- given that many are Bronze and some are Silver -- and causing a morale issue among designers. Zazzle's passive "please report these" response is conveying the message that Zazzle doesn't care.

Another concern is that many of these shops encourage customers to contact them for assistance. Does Zazzle really want these automated shops with no intent of actually creating a single design to interact directly with customers? I'm not implying anything has happened, but it's opening up the door for further interactions that might not be appropriate.

I do apprecate your comment, though, and I hope Zazzle will consider a more effective strategy for this.

Cutting boards is certainly an depressing category right now. I was considering designing some for Q4, but I have to question if there is any point to it. I sorted by "new," and found 4 stores in the first few pages that produce nothing but blank products. And they produce a lot of products. I followed them and everytime I get a notification that they have made new products, I am going to report them. I honestly don't know if it will do any good or if Zazzle will only check that product and ignore the entire store. I really wish Zazzle would give guidance. There are only so many hours in a day and if they aren't going to look at the entire store/account. It is hopeless.
