This is a First for Me - The customer asked me to reduce watch price to $1 on their order to avoid tax zazzle tax evader.png wants watch price reduced to $1 to avoid Tax

Obviously, this is a no from me (can't physically do nor would I) and not something Zazzle would do (illegal?).

Anyone here have any bizarre requests they'd like to share here.

I had an irate customer contact me once because content management had cancelled her order. She had uploaded a picture from the Black Panther movie and was absolutely convinced that the image was public domain because she'd seen it on the internet!

Yes!  People do not understand.  I've had the same type of experience - one time with a good friend - even after I explained she got angry and said she didn't want any of the products I'd spent time making for her (and they were going to be going away gifts, she wasn't even going to have to pay me for them!).  I told her to make her own new address cards if she wanted the photo she found on the net so badly.  Guess it saved me money because I was so aggravated she didn't get any going away gift from me.  LOL

During the early days of COVID, just after the vaccines first came out I made a novelty invite that looked like a vastly oversized vaccine card... It was *clearly* not- it was invitation size, it had joking logos on it that were not the CDC or DSHS (it had martini glasses rather than birds and was the Center for Party Time... ) and party information. It was as real looking as monopoly money...  yet I had multiple people ask me to make it 'look more real' and really not understand me when I told them it was a JOKE and a party invite.... I finally just had to take it down.

I had somebody request that I cram 25 template names onto a welcome mat. It was a gift for a grandparent who apparently had 25 grandchildren. I did this and of course they didn't buy it. Probably because 25 template spaces on a welcome mat looks truly awful.

Yours is just extra sleazy. The nerve of some people.

Haven't had any experiences like that, although I used to sell stuff on Etsy, and did get requests for marking a lower price or checking off that an item was a "gift" on customs forms so buyers could avoid paying the customs fees. My guess is this is what the watch customer is after.

Yes I imagine so, very cheeky though, given they're literally asking us to break the law, I'm assuming it's illegal?

Not illegal but a little strange - I had a request from a customer to add a second hand to a clock.  🤔   🕒

Wow! lol I had something similar a few years ago. A customer in Madrid drove me nuts asking for repeated edits on a clock design. She then wanted to ship her clock to me so I could print my design on a decal and apply it to the clock face for her and ship it back. Um, that didn't happen. lol 😳

I had a weird clock request too once, I can't quite recall the details, but I think she wanted me to change the type of way it was powered!

I had someone object to the manufactures engraved details being on the back of the watch.

I wonder if I can go anywhere and buy a watch for $1.00?

LOL.  Reminds me of when I was selling some exercise equipment - priced at $50 (about 1/4 of the purchased price) which I thought was fair.  Guy offered me $10.  I told him I'd break it up and throw it in the trash first.  Wasn't worth my time for him to pick it up.

Entitled people!

I had a request where they asked me to change the font to one of their choice, and that was a paid font (something around $250 for end customers) so I told them they have to purchase the font first and then we can arrange a workflow as to how they can get their templates in that font; to which they responded with a link to a pirate site where one could download the font illegally, thinking that I'd just go and do that for them. I literally laughed out loud and showed that message to my boyfriend to illustrate what kind of people a freelancer sometimes has to deal with. Like yeah right, I'll just go and do an illegal thing (and supposedly get a bunch of malware as well) because they asked me to. People are funny 🙂

I'm not sure how strange this one is but I had a buyer email me at my business addy saying she had ordered a yard sign for a special birthday party but forgot to add the stake, could I add the stake for her or suggest something that would work in a pinch.   I directed her to CS to see if they could modify her order and I also shared with her a couple of links with DIY sign ideas in case it was too late.  She told me she didn't want to cancel the order and thanked me for taking the time to help her think of alternate sign stakes that she would try if needed.  The order went through so I am assuming all ended well for her.

Aww that was actually quite a sweet request and lovely of you to assist.

I don't mind helping when they contact me through my own email and I have the time.

I had a strange request only because I am sure that it was a joke. A customer asked me how much it would cost for 700,000 double sided rack cards. I did the math. $223,440.00. Which if this were an actual order, it would be a nice profit for me.

cor! That would be nice indeed!!
