I know this has been mentioned before, but I just wanted to throw it out there again. I was contacted by a customer who was interested in some foil invitations, but was turned off/concerned because the previews are illegible.  I have created a nice cover for this invite that shows the text nicely, but as soon as you start to customize it, the view switches to the illegible Zazzle preview so people can't really even see their text.

I've received 5 star reviews for this design, so I'm pretty confident that it looks good when printed, but the previews are just really, really bad. I have to wonder how many customers don't contact me and just skip over the foil invites because of the preview problem. It's just such a shame that such a beautiful product is going to waste because customers really have to make a leap of faith in order to purchase something that looks so bad in the previews. It's hard to get excited about designing for them for the same reason.

Anyhow, here's a link to the invite in question just for information's sake: Elegant Gold Frills on Emerald Green Wedding Foil Invitation | Zazzle

Another thought... I'm guessing that the silver foil mockups were designed with the dark outline around the foil to make it more visible on white backgrounds - which make sense. I'm wondering if one solution could be to create an additional mockup or two that's optimized for dark backgrounds. It would be ideal if the designer could choose which one the customer was shown when editing the design, but if that's not possible, at least having one that was readable would be helpful.

I agree, the mockups need work.  The best looking one is the gold one by far.  When changed to the silver or rose gold some of the text and accents are barely seen.  I suppose ordering one in the three different foil options and then creating a short video showing how each one prints would be helpful. On another note though, I just went back to look at one of my foil invitation designs and noticed that they can now be purchased in singles instead of by 5's.  Don't know when this rolled out but I think it is fantastic!

I've brought this up before with some foil Christmas cards I did, and the response was "we don't know what you're talking about".
