I think this would be a great product for Zazzle.

It's becoming increasingly popular; I know people who use washi tape and love it. And I think it's fantastic too, because you can do so much with it.

We could put amazing designs on it, and I'm sure it would sell well.

Considering how little designers earn on Zazzle these days, is this a product that you’d want to spend your time creating designs for only to earn less than a dollar per sale? That is a question I’m asking myself a lot lately.

If it’s a product that folks typically purchase in multiples, then that also drives my decision making process. For instance, a sticker sale may also earn pennies, but I sold 50 sheets to one customer, resulting in a decent royalty.

Just something to keep in mind when you are designing a product or asking for new products to be added to Zazzle’s inventory.

And why do you think buyers wouldn't buy more of them?

It's really just like stickers.

On another platform, the same buyer kept buying 10 of the same dress design for her offline shop.

Something similar happened to me with gift ribbons, also for an offline shop, which are available here on Zazzle for just a few pennies, but they took up a lot of my creative time.

And I really hadn't thought that I might have to post sales statistics so that others wouldn't feel bothered when I make a product suggestion.

I wasn’t bothered by your suggestion. I also wasn’t being critical of your suggestion. I was just sharing my current thoughts on the benefits/drawbacks of creating designs for low-royalty producing products. I thought I was being helpful.

Maybe I've read too much into it.

So you don't make invitations, birthday cards, announcements, etc., either? We only get a few cents for those too.But I assume you do make them, since that's one of the biggest markets here on Zazzle. And it's the volume that makes it worthwhile.

I doubt any of us sell 10 rugs a day. We make the money with the small things.

No, I don’t make invitations of any kind. You’ve made several assumptions about me already. Just FYI….

Yes, I assumed that almost everyone was in the areas where purchases are made. My mistake.

Sorry about that.

I had to look this one up 🙂
But I like the eco-friendly aspect of this (at least from what I gather that is the dominant style).
I think anything that can be made eco-friendly will have more potential for sales.
