I think designers would be more motivated to make videos if they were seen while scrolling through the marketplace. So when looking through the pages of products in the marketplace (products that have videos as the first item) will have a moving video to attract the eye.  Unless I am missing something, the only way the customer sees the videos here on Zazzle is if they are on the product page.  But if the videos are visible from the marketplace pages then that could really work for us designers to get noticed and would be a real motivation to create more videos.  What does everyone think?  I can't understand why this isn't the way it is set up right now.  On social media as I am scrolling I see videos and they do make me stop and watch quite frequently, so why not reward those who put the time in to create them by putting them in the marketplace where they will be seen?  Just thinking it might make it more worth the designer's time to have the videos shown out there in the marketplace.

@SJoy I agree with you. That constant silent (or not) videos playing on one page would send a lot of people away. That kind of strategy of webpages is so 1999.

I recently learned that Google is favoring blog posts with video content so that's another thing for us to add to our skillset and workload (those of us who do our own marketing). Hence I suspect why this is such a large part of Zazzle now. Increasingly reduced visibility in Google and in the marketplace due to a variety of factors means more than ever we need to be out there, bringing in the business as they say!

Please at least have it be an option in settings somewhere to have videos Not play automatically. I get vertigo, and a lot of times videos can set that off for me. Especially if they're fast/have lots of flashing colors, or I'm trying to read something else on the page and the video is just playing away in my peripheral vision.

I use NoScript to block ads, but if a site has too many or ones that I know will make me sick and aren't blocked by that, I just stop going to that website. I would imagine it would make any of our buyers stop coming here who also can't do auto-play videos for health reasons (or annoyance) as well.

That would be HORRIBLE! All that movement would be more than distracting, and probably cause medical issues for a lot of people. You can play the video when you hover over the listing, so there's no need to have everything moving all around when you are trying to shop!

I create animated GIFs of products that are 10-12 seconds each. No sound, but light file size and catches the eye. Love the idea of it, one day, would play when seen on Main Pages (if GIF animation is in 1st position on Product Page.
