Instant Download License vs. License on Projects Downloaded from Create Tool

As a background designer I frequently field questions from users about how they are and are not allowed to use images they create using the backgrounds in the Create tool. Is the license on those downloads the same as the license on downloads through the new Instant Download program? If not, is there a help page somewhere that clarifies the difference? 

Aside from the user agreement (which I don't think anyone but the most dedicated are going to plow through) this is the only info I can find on the subject: What am I allowed to do with my Instant Download? – Zazzle Help Center

Can someone please clarify if the info in that page applies to both situations? Thanks!

Hi Cat, if I remember correctly and unless it changed, background designers had to be invited and accepted. Since I didn’t participate, I don’t know if there was a separate agreement about licensing for background designs. If there was, then that would start to answer your question.
My question is whether your background design/s can be part of instant downloads and if so can you/did you opt out your background designs.
I tested out several on a blank product, there was no option for instant download of the bg image on the product.

Yes, we were invited to apply, but as the program evolved, they kept changing what was allowed, so it got very confusing. I know people can't sell the backgrounds, or use them on products to sell, but I was confused about the gray areas. The above mentioned help site says you cannot use downloads on printed promotional pieces for commercial purposes (like posters, banners, etc) but I though that use was allowed for stuff made using the Create tool - I'm just not sure.

But I'm less interested in sorting out the exact details for myself, and mostly wanting an easy place to send customers who come to me with questions. I was wondering if the above mentioned help file was the place to send them or if that license only applies to stuff downloaded through the new program.

BTW, users can download anything they make using the Create tool - which includes backgrounds. They have to make it in the create tool though, not the design tool.

Now I understand what you are wanting to do, and why you want to clarify before sending the customer anywhere for answers. Makes complete sense.
