backened > select 204 as number of products to views on page > open stats menu just above listed products > on right under "Instant Downloads" click "enabled" > above this "group actions" select "all non discontinued..." > then click the actions button and select "disable instant downloads". If you have more than 204 then you might have to go to the next page and repeat. It is also possible that once you click disable that they all disappear and you just repeat those steps for the next batch without changing pages...

Thank you. I did not know that Zazzle automatically offered my products as instant downloads. Very angry about that. A digital download is not a "new product". I checked the box for "Do not migrate any of my content onto new products" so that this does not happen again. There were 1,000's of my posters offered as digital downloads. Now I will have to extra vigilant in checking for people selling them on amazon and redbubble.

Hi John
All creators were opted in and had to opt out by the migration date. We sent an email, notification on your account and forum posts on this. You would have to have opted out by the migration date.

Don't automatically opt everyone in. Automatically opt everyone out, and if they choose to be in it then let them. You sent an e-mail? Did the subject say "how to disable instant downloads in your shops"?
Regardless, I'm glad this thread exists. Thanks to the OP.

I agree with you. There are some here who don't get a chance to really go through their emails or even attend to their Zazzle stores.

I looked through all the emails they sent about instant downloads. The titles of emails said "Instant Download Opt-in" and "Instant Download Opt-in Extended!". Meaning you have to opt-in to include instant downloads. None of the emails said anything about being automatically opted-in. They made it look like you had to sign up for it.

Yes, and they can cancel sales and get a refund for any reason whatsoever.

I received several emails warning me that I would have to opt out of digital downloads. They also posted about it in the forums. Perhaps you should check that you are receiving their emails (and that theyaren't routed to the Junk or Trash folder) or check the forum more frequently. This was one of the most discussed changes I have seen in the six years I have been active here.

The only e-mail I remember that pertained to digital downloads was the one saying it was going to be opt-in. If the news of switching from opt-in to opt-out was in an e-mail with a different subject, I would have ignored it and not read the entire thing. Much of what Z includes in their e-mails just doesn't apply to me. That is also why I am rarely in the forum, especially since the format change. It just takes too long to find anything pertinent.

I've never liked the format change to the forums. It was much easier before.

I got a sale for "Transferred to: digital_product" and was like "what the heck is this?" So I came to the forum and found this topic. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention, cos Zazzle sure as heck didn't! I would have loved to have seen this email that they supposedly sent out. 😠
When one of our biggest problems is people stealing our designs, why in the world would I want to hand high quality versions of them over on a silver platter for a few bucks??

Digital downloads are as bad as the AI technology. What's to keep them from using your images elsewhere or even trying to sell them? Even contracts don't seem to stop that in licensing sales as it's really hard to track. We work hard to create our work. Then, who knows the quality of the printer they use to print your image that has your name attached to it? I'm super picky. I've had portrait clients get photos printed at big box stores and they don't look good! I don't want to hold my name to them.
