Hi all, My name is Matt, I'm a New Zealand based graphic designer and have been creating space-inspired digital art in my spare time since the 2020 lockdown. I've been encouraged by friends to try sell my designs online so decided to give it a go and for the last week have been setting up my store and social media accounts. I really want to hit the ground running with social media promotion, particularly on Pinterest and Benable, but am quite unexperienced and find it all a tad overwhelming. I'm starting out by pinning/listing 5 store products per day but beyond that am not too sure what to do to grow an audience. Should I mix in other creators designs that match my vibe? I remember there was discussion in the old forum about earning referrals when buying one's own product, and stuck in my head is that we pay our royalty, supposedly getting it back when we're paid that royalty, but what if it's self-referred? I received the promo preview email today Tuesday 4/15, and I noticed it included the 40% off business cards sale that was on Monday 4/14. I was so bummed because I had been waiting for the business cards to go on sale (I needed to order 3 sets of business cards) but I missed the sale because I was not anticipating it. I've started a blog to showcase my fellow designers and their products. Each month will have a central theme for the products displayed, so all products and design themes will be centered around that theme. For instance, the upcoming month of August will have a "Back to School" theme.
