Does anybody know if it's possible (or allowed) to claim a single website from a bunch of different Pinterest accounts? (I think i know how to do it technically via TXT records in the DNS management, but not sure if Pinterest would be happy about it.)
I normally set up separate niche Zazzle stores, and then set up matching Pinterest accounts, one for each Zazzle store. But if, for example, I just use a general design-based website, and want all the different Pinterest accounts to point back to that, is it possible?
I guess I can just use the Pinterest Bio to link without actually "claiming" the website.
Just wondered if anybody has done that. Or whether there is any benefit to claiming websites on Pinterest, as opposed to simply sticking a hyperlink in the Bio.
Thanks for any thoughts on this one! 👍

@Artsiren My opinion is that P would frown upon this and may suspend some of your accounts if you do as proposed. It may even be stated somewhere in their user agreement that you can only have 1 account for 1 website. It is a risk to try it. If losing accounts is worth the risk, I guess you could try, but I don't see it ending well.
I am in the process of using a claimed website connected to a P account. It has not aged enough to determine if there is a benefit to it. Although I believe that there will be, that's why I'm building out the site.

Thanks @PacifierCity Hmmm. Yes, you might be right. Certainly, I know it's only one account per email address - which is what I have done. I think there has been (in the past) a lot of skulduggery by people setting up multiple Pinterest accounts, so they could fake repins and likes and whatever.
For me, it's more a case of "unfragmenting" my Zazzle business - and probably other businesses too - in one place. So I'll just add my website link to the Bio's in each of my Pinterest accs. If one in particular takes off, maybe I'll claim the website with that one only.
The idea is to forward my domain to a link-list site such as Linktree, rather than building out a website. Then it's just one link or printed QR code for people to get access to all the various stores I have everywhere.

@ArtsirenNote that P will frown on a website that simply forwards one to another site.
I mange 7, I think, P accounts right now. It can be overwhelming. I get wanting things to be much simpler. 4 of them are for niche stores, as you do. 1 is for my JB Designs business and I do feature a board for each of my niches there. And then I have a few themed affiliate accounts that only promote a certain design theme. Only one of these is tied to a website. And that website is brand new and thanks to attribution changes, needs to be updated again... as do many/most of my cards. So much work, so little time.
I do like the idea of simplifying, but I just seem to make things more and more complicated... lol. I am getting better at it though. Best of luck.

One of the benefits to a claimed account is that you can enable rich pins which will pull the description details from your website. I think where that description comes from as far as blog text or other metadata sections varies depending on what host you are using. Another is that no matter who pins something from your website, the pin will be attributed to your site/brand instead of to the account that pinned it which is good for marketing and brand building.
I agree with JB as far as thinking it would not be a good idea to claim your site to multiple accounts, but you could always contact Pinterest directly just to be sure.

Pinterest has a forum where you can ask about this. Not sure of which is the right section to post in, or to browse for an answer to this question. https://community.pinterest.biz/t5/business-chat/bd-p/smb-chat
