Collections with another designer's product

I had asked about this in a Facebook group last year and the response was to basically not bother with this.

However, this morning I discovered one of my products listed in a collection of another niche store. I was so excited to see this!

What I want to know is: Would a sale originating from this shop be mutually beneficial? I should get a royalty and they should get a referral correct?

And if that's the case, is it a good idea to add other designers' (creators) products to a collection if it fits a theme we are doing in our stores?

I have a niche store I am working on that I would love to add other people's products to my collections if they are fitting.

I feel a little confused about how this works. Especially since joining the promotor program, my referral id was removed from all the links on the listing and I have to manually add them when promoting someone else's product on Pinterest.

The other designer has nothing to gain from customers buying another designers products from their Zazzle store. The only way this can be of benefit to the other Creator is when they 'share' the collection with their referral code.

As an affiliate, it can be beneficial to create a niche collection with popular designs (theirs or those of others) for promotions on their websites, blogs, social media etc.

Thank you! That makes sense. To be promoting it outside the Zazzle marketplace with referral ids. 🙂 Thank you so much for helping me with this one.

Yes I know that no referral was added when I added another designers product to my collection.  However when I shared the entire collection with my referral link enabled me to get the referral on the product if client clicked on the collection link and bought the product due to the coookie. Know that  I shop other designers stores and will buy their products I like to add their products to my collection, I also like to promote my designers friends products on my collection and they do the same for me...its a great way to get "free advertisement" traffic and exposure to your product and to your store when customer sees your product at other designers collection, then clicks the link.

First, the HTML for other designers' products was removed now I see I can no longer add other designers' products to my collections.  I know that my products have been added to other designers' collections and those products have sold...I was thankful that they added to the designer's collection as it was a great way to get more traffic and exposure to my product and store...so today I am feeling sad to know that I can no longer promote other designers' products by adding to my collection. just saying....

I just responded to LDS222 below with:

When viewing another Creator's shop, hover over their product covers to reveal options to heart or add to collections.

If you like someone else's product, you can also go to your likes page and add them to a collection from there.

Thanks SuzyLeeLo!

What's interesting, is on the couple products I was trying that add'l option icon (with the + sign) was not there; my options were Share or Like.  But, your suggestion to Like it worked, I was then able to go to Likes and add it to my collection.

Appreciate the quick response.

I came to the forum to find out how to add other products from different designers to some of my collections, and couldn't figure it out (didn't remember it being difficult).  Are you saying that this ability is not available anymore?

If you are promoting on pinterest, I have a popular board you can use for collections only https://www.pinterest.com.au/mylittleeden/zazzle-collections/ Feel free to join and post away (limit of 5 per day) thanks. I love collections for this reason, they are great to share!

Thanks mylittleeden!  I will definitely check-it out.

I thought I read quite a while ago, that Pinterest changed the rules and pinning to Pinterest from Zazzle was an issue; is that no longer the case?

you can still pin from Zazzle directly to Pinterest. It is better to create a fresh pin, in my opinion. That way you can create the right-sized images that really stand out on the platform. Creating lots of different-looking pins that point to the same collection or product is ok too.
