Pinterest screwed up?

I just got done pinning some of my new products & when I went to my Pinterest page that's labeled "saved", only the 1st 26 of my boards were showing up on the page. I have around 70+ boards. I was using Safari so I then tried Chrome but the same thing is happening there. When I do a search for one of the "missing" boards it shows up. Does anyone know if Pinterest made another one of their wonderful changes? Or is this a glitch that will hopefully clear up?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this!

It's a new feature. You can change visibility from the little settings icon just above the boards on the left hand side. Right now the options are alphabetical, custom, and last viewed. I didn't try figuring out how to set custom because I'm fine with the last viewed option.

Thanks, @Angela . Do I ever hate Pinterest!!! I can't seem to set "custom". When I click on it, it seems to be in the order I originally had (which I guess since I had moved boards around, was custom). Problem is, whichever of the 3 choices I click on, it only shows the 1st 26 boards. I really want to see ALL of them. 😡

BTW, did you read somewhere it was a new feature? If so, where? Thanks!

That little slide bar on the side has been there for a while. I have changed my board order a few times using it.

I noticed the issue of only 26 boards showing yesterday morning and assumed it was a glitch. Since it's still doing the same thing I'm wondering what is going on. I agree Marcia, Pinterest is frustrating.

I just did a few searches and saw the same issue mentioned only twice from 10 and 16 hours ago on the Downdetector website. Anyone on Twitter might check the Pinterest account to see if there is a mention of it.

I’m wondering about this too.  It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the dropdown A-Z, custom etc. as it only shows a limited number of boards no matter what. The boards are there, and I can add to them, so not sure why there is not way to see them all.

Yikes!  I'm showing only 26 boards too--and several of mine are hidden for my convenience as works in progress.

So I had written to Pinterest yesterday and I heard back around an hour or two ago.

"Thank you for contacting Pinterest, my name's Rachel, and I'm here to help.
This could be caused by your browser or computer, so I recommend trying a few things to fix it:
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies
- Make sure your browser is up-to-date
- Try from a different browser like Firefox or Chrome and let me know if you have the same problem
- Disable any browser extensions one by one
- Open Pinterest in private/incognito mode. This feature is available on desktop and mobile devices on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari web.
If none of these tips helped, could you please send me a video of the issue you’re experiencing? There are some apps that make this possible, but I’ve found it’s easiest to record the issue using another device.
Attach the video as a .mov file to this email, like you would a regular attachment.
I appreciate your help while I investigate this issue."

Can this be any more of a standard issue response? So before I started disabling browser extensions one by one (seriously!), I checked again on Pinterest & voila, everything (all 117 of my boards) were back on my home page. Since it wasn't just me who had this problem, it annoys me to no end that Pinterest assumes they're blameless. Sure looks like a glitch on their side to me!

At any rate, I'm glad it wasn't a new change of theirs & hope it stays "fixed".

Thankfully, it seems to be back to normal this morning. I can now see all my boards.

Weird – I responded with my answer from Pinterest yesterday – noting that it must have been on their end because it seemed fixed by the time they got back to me (even tho they were blaming my computer settings) – and that entire post is missing today!

Why was it removed? What did I say that was wrong???

Never mind, it's back now. But unfortunately, I can't delete or edit the above comment...😉

Instead of starting another thread, I felt the title "Pinterest screwed up?" would fit my question. I hope you don't mind Marcia.

I have been pinning more than previously for more than a month. My monthly views increased and that made sense to me. More pins caught more eyes. BUT over the last week even though my pinning hasn't changed, my monthly views seem to drop about 500 views or more a day. YIKES! The pins themselves seem to be getting the normal views. Just an FYI, I make my pins so I'm not using the Zazzle pin icon but I don't believe that's an issue.

I did a search and see that Pinterest shut down the Creator Rewards program that allowed creators to earn money via content based on monthly prompts and reaching certain engagement goals. I didn't realize there was such a program and now I'm wondering if that program cancellation may be affecting views.

Has anyone else has noticed the same trend?

@PAZP not at all!

Unfortunately, I have nothing to add to your post – since I still don't really know what I'm doing on pinterest. (lol) I don't make my own pins like I'm supposed to, I pin to multiple boards (although I use different views) & pin directly from Zazzle. I never seemed to see an uptick of views at all, when I made my own pins. So since it's a pain to do, I stopped. I do pin a lot, however – every product I create. My viewership, a few years ago, used to be probably 4 or 5x what it it now. I still get the occasional referral, which is always a surprise.

I keep saying I give up, but I keep plugging away at it. Lost cause? Who knows? Just hope it isn't a complete waste of my time — haha!

I can't say I know what I'm doing either. 😆 I look for new articles and tutorials but most times it doesn't seem to do a thing for me.

For the average 2 - 6 referrals I earn a month at the PP2 rate, it's been better than it was before as far as number of referrals and income from those. But putting that time in making the pins keeps me out of trouble. hahaha

Remember that the default stats show them for the last 30 days which is a constant rolling period. I've had a couple occurrences of pins "going viral", racking up thousands of views & repins etc over the course of a few days. That drives my overall stats up, but when interest in that pin rolls out of the 30 days, the overall stats go down again because they're no longer including that super popular pin.

Also, the last month or so is/was the big holiday season when many were likely looking at things for xmas gifts, seasonal home decor, party supplies etc. But we're now at the point where getting those things in time has just about passed, so views would naturally be dropping off. So if one's been promoting primarily a lot of seasonal things, I would expect views on such to naturally be dropping off now and thus overall stats to be going down.

Have no idea if either of these apply to you, just general things to consider.

Yes, I've considered most of what you've covered. I just read another article that said to stop looking at monthly views and focus on the stats for the individual pins.

The majority of my pins aren't holiday related so I'm pretty sure that's not my overall issue. Since I'm still getting referrals, I just continue pinning.
