I know this was talked about on the old forum (wish it were archived), but I don't remember the answer to my question: As a promoter, how do we promote others on Pinterest? Must we copy and paste our ID at the end of the URL or does Zazzle automatically know we're promoting someone's product?

I’m pretty sure you need to paste it in…

You need to make a manual pin, putting in your rf# following the product id#.

So I can probably just edit the URL right there in Pinterest. Anyway, we used to be able to do that. Who knows since Pinterest seems to change on a monthly basis. 😕

You can't edit the URL on Pinterest anymore. That changed over a year or so ago.

If you make your own pin you can change the URL. I have done it when I decide to change the view or some other crazy reason.
If you pin from the Z share icon you can't change the URL. Actually you can't find the URL.

@PAZP I pinned a product from someone else and easily found the URL, so it's definitely still there. The problem is that, if you changed it, then Pinterest won't post the change.
I'd really like to post other people's products, but if it ends up being time-consuming, I guess I'll just skip the whole thing, which is too bad.
Zazzle ought to fix this so that, as Promoters, we can easily promote people other than just ourselves.

Did you pin it from the Z share Pin icon? If so, can you show or describe how and where you found the URL? I’d love to know.

It would be really, REALLY nice if the share links were smart enough to know whether the product you're looking at was designed by you or not, and to adjust the link accordingly - in other words to add the affiliate code for products designed by someone else, but to leave it off for your own products. I know that my promoting of other people's stuff pretty much fell to zero once I joined the promoter program because it's just too much work to edit the links by hand.

I just went into Pinterest, chose one of my pins at random, chose to edit it, and at the bottom of the screen saw the URL. I added my rf# with ease. I wonder why some of you aren't able to do this while I am. Or is it that you can edit it but it won't save? Will have to try that next.
EDIT: Sure enough, you can add the code but Pinterest refuses to save it.
@Cat I agree with you totally!

Click edit (pencil icon) that shows up when you hover over the pin, and in the box that appears, you'll see Website in the middle of the box.

Patricia, I forgot to answer your question about where I'd pinned my sample from: It was using the Pin-it button from Pinterest, but I see the same edit screen when using Zazzle's button.

It used to be that if you utilize the create pin function at P, you can add your own url to a pin. So I used to set up my rfid with tracking code in one tab and then use P's create a pin tool to get url. Once the url appears on the page you could click into the url box and paste in your rfid and TC. I don't use the P browser extension so I don't know if you can alter a url with that. Using Z P share button does not allow one to edit the url. Once the pin is published, the url can not be edited.
I am a Nifty fan and that tool is smart enough to know if something is yours or not. So if you use NIfty you can pin without worry as it takes care of adding your rfid and a tc if you like, or not at all because it is your product. @HightonRidley If your new to Nifty it can be confusing but Mark is very helpful and in 3 months or less, you can easily start earning enough to pay for a subscription... at least that was my experience.
