How can I add your product to my collection?

I want to make a collection of products for possible addition to my Pinterest board. Is there a way to add these products to a collection? How would I do this?

As of 8/23/2022, the option to add somebody else's product to one of your own Collections still has not returned to the individual product pages. You can however do it from the store's Products, Category, Collection or Likes pages.

Mouse-over the thumbnail of the product and the icons for Add to Collection and Like will appear. When you mouse-over an icon itself it will turn red.

Since mousing-over a thumbnail changes it to a design element that might take up the whole square, those two icons are impossible to see if the "pop out" image is a dark one or very busy. But since we know they're there, we can mouse-over the upper right and when we move over the icon it will turn red. 😉

So we can still incorporate other people's stuff in our own Collections, we just have the extra step of first having to locate it in their store. If there's a "Other Products from this Collection" scroll for the product, you can use that to hone in on it. If not, or if the collection is too big to spot the desired product at a glance, you can search the store for it. The easiest way I've found to search for it is to copy the product ID#, then paste it into the search field on the store's Products tab. (Don't use the search field on the store's Home tab, that one gives wonky or no results.) You'll get a results page with that item as the only result; since it's a listing page and not an individual product page, there's your Add to Collection icon over the thumbnail. 😉

NOTE that you need to use the intra-store search box, not the general Zazzle MP search. MP listings only have the Like icon, no Add to Collection. For whatever reason, you have to be in somebody's store, and then the Add to Collection icon is there on pretty much everything except the individual product pages.

So basically, if you land on a product page and decide you want to add the item to a Collection:
1) copy the Product ID# (PID) from either the URL or from the bottom of the listing under "Other Info"
2) click on the "by XXXXX" store link above the product title
3) click the store's Products tab
4) paste the PID into the "Search this Store" field
5) mouse-over the single resulting thumbnail to get the Add to Collection icon on it

It's quicker to do then it is to type or read these instructions, LOL.

Thank you for such detailed step by step instructions. 😁

I've tried it out and it works. It took me a minute to find the Add to Collections hidden icon, but it's there. 🤔

Wow! What a Pro!

This is a STUNNER!  Firstly, I have only ever added to collection from the product page, because I am always only searching per product, never just browsing anyone's store. So until @CrazyMermaid pointed out that you can add from the "products page" as opposed to the "product page" of another designer, I had no idea.

I made a trip over to my desktop to check that out, and indeed you can add someone's product to a collection even though the functionality has been removed from the product page.

But now you point out that the add to collection button on the products page is NOT VIEWABLE until you mouse over it. On the iPad is a real challenge getting that completely invisible collection icon to show up at all, but if I try a few times and then try again, I see that the collection icon and the favorites icon ARE in fact there! I am trying again a few times as I type this, and it's really difficult to get those icons to show themselves, but sometimes that step is bypassed entirely and I get directly to my collections dropdown and can choose the collection without ever seeing the icon at all.

I seriously never saw that before at all--those invisible icons in the upper right corner of a listing on a products page. INVISIBLE.

Your tips about how to search for a product inside of the store are perfect, too. It's a huge challenge to find anything in someone's store. Browsing, sure, but locating an item you want in particular, no. Not easy. Using that product ID number you referenced and putting that in the search bar for the store works a treat and does return only just the one product I am searching for.

@ColsCreations as always, your contributions to this forum are detailed, right on point and amazing! Thank you!

I am glad you have found a way to add to a collection. It is a shame that Zazzle took something that was so easy and made it a challenge.

This information is awesome. For the iPad I found if I tick just inside the right upper corner and I like the product then the add to collection icon option remains there and I can easily add to my collection that way.

Wouldn't it be easier to just like the item and view what you have in your liked items area for use to Pin?

Oh, that's brilliant! You can just Like the item by clicking the heart icon on it, go to your Likes section, and click the Add to Collection icon on it from there. So you could browse/search all day, Liking stuff as you go. When you're done for the day, go to your Likes, add everything to the appropriate Collection(s), and then just un-like to clear your page for another batch another day.

If you add one of my products to one of your collections. Will your collection then show under my product, instead of my collection that contains all of the coordinating products? I don't know if this happens or not. I never really saw any benefit of someone adding my products to their collections.
