How do I remove the white background from alpha channel in Photoshop?
To quickly remove a white background in Photoshop, select your image layer, then open the Properties Panel by going to Window > Properties. Scroll to the bottom of the properties to locate the “Remove Background” button. Now click on this button to remove the white background from your image.

How To Remove A White Background With The Magic Wand Tool
To remove a white background using the Magic Wand Tool, select the tool (W) and click on your image layer. In the tool settings, set the sample size to “Point Sample,” the tolerance to 25, and check off Anti-alias. Now click the white background to select it and press Delete to make it transparent.
==========
There is a way to set a color as transparent.. blend-if.
Convert to Lab
Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options
Blend if: B
Adjust the This Layer slider to get rid of yellows. Hold alt on a half of a handle to separate it and create a border radius for smooth transition.
========
Remove the background from an image
In the Preview app on your Mac, click the Show Markup Toolbar button (if the Markup toolbar isn’t showing), then click the Instant Alpha button (or use the Touch Bar).
Drag over part of the background.
Preview selects the area you dragged over and any pixels adjacent to it that have the same colors.
To delete the selected area, press Delete.
To delete everything outside the selected area, choose Edit > Invert Selection, then press Delete.
Repeat steps until you have the image you want.

Great tips. The single caveat is when you have a white object on a white background. For that single situation, there's little for it but to do it by hand. Sometimes, using the magic wand set to zero will get you close, and then you can turn on Quick Mask to paint out the rest.
See my masking suggestion for mugs here, at the bottom: https://community.zazzle.com/t5/general-zazzle-discussion/cover-photos-questions-comments/td-p/63324...
Best would be if Zazzle would allow us to download the product on transparency. 😞
