How to Sell Digital Downloads To Your Zazzle Customers using Your Profile Message Settings UPSELL

Hi Zazzlepreneurs!

It is possible some of you are yet to discover this feature in Zazzle Profile Settings so log-in to your profile, select 'advanced settings' and page down to the series of options that allow you to add personalized messages for your customers at different stages of their transaction.

One way I use to UPSELL my customers (and it works!) using this tool is as follows:

You can generate free emoji codes for adding to your text via emojipedia!

This works especially well for those items that currently do NOT have the digital download feature enabled on the product page.

@Scott - please consider letting us have it enabled soon for flat paper sheets and postcards.

Mostly every day a customer will message me in chat to ask for access to the download as a result of seeing this message when they add something to their cart and I quickly transfer their desired design (not their edited version, just the product page version) to a product that allows downloads and then forward them the link. The process takes less than a minute! In many cases this results in them buying both the prints and a download.

Not all of you will want your customers to buy digital downloads but for those that do, this is a very effective way to upsell them! I have also added an 'upsell notice' re digital downloads to my profile bio.

You can of course use this feature to upsell other items that you want to direct your customer to, not just downloads.

Further Uses:

You can also use the other fields, for messages that encourage loyalty from your customers so they return to you for future purchases. One example is that I use the 'review field' to ask customers to 'share' their purchase on social media with the hashtag 'zazzlemade'.

I'm not sure how effective this is! But it's something that is worth testing and changing regularly while you monitor results.

I hope this helps some, for me it works well.

Interesting idea. Can you help me understand this:

“I quickly transfer their desired design (not their edited version, just the product page version) to a product that allows downloads and then forward them the link.”

Why do you give the customer a link to the product page design, but not their edited design?  How do they use that?

Thanks.

They simply edit the download option in a similar fashion. If they made multiple changes to the template before adding it to their cart, you can direct them to 'transfer' their edited version themselves to the 'flat card invite' option. I have various graphics to assist them BUT I have not yet had anyone have an issue being directed to the 'same' unedited template on a new product.  Sellers can of course adapt this offering however they want. transfer a design zazzle (1).png

Awesome. Now I understand. Thanks so much!

Customers can download 8.5x11 inch flat paper sheets? I have been wanting that option for a long while now. I don't see the download option on the product page. Am I missing something? It would be amazing if this were possible. People ask me all the time if they can download the designs on the flat paper sheets. Thanks for all these wonderful suggestions Leah! @CreativeLeahG

What do you do if they choose a design for which you don't have a license to sell digitally?

All my designs on the items requested allow digital downloads. If they don't you advise them they're not eligible for download.

Silly question but does one have to have a certain Pro level for these nifty featrues? Because I don't have any messaging options in my store profile under "advanced settings" 🤔.

That's odd? My belief is we all have it. Perhaps message admin to check this. Did you page all the way down?

Yep, scrolled all the way down. No such feature. I guess I'll message the admin next.

@Fizzy They're not under your store profile. They're under your member profile. Go to your profile - settings - advanced settings - scroll down to 'Personal messages to your customers'

Thanks! I never even considered looking under my member profile 🙃😊.
