1/3 of My Products Show NO Views since Mid November

I wrote about this issue a few months ago.  Sadly, not, much has changed.  About 1/3 of the items I make never get a "VIEW" this has been going on since November.  Below are two examples from 2 different stores.

View stats are OFF - again.
Only part of the views are registered, which makes it even more tricky to catch. I have several products that I viewed that did not register a view. Even though it says they have been modified on a certain date ... really, without viewing it?
As a result products are disappearing and store rank tanks ... not to mention sales.

I'm not sure Zazzle registers 'our own views'? Perhaps if we were logged out when viewing but even then there might be a limit based on IP address. Otherwise we could artificially boost our views which I don't believe is possible.

Yes, Zazzle registers our own views—except during times when indexing is slow and views are not updating, which seems to be from Friday night to Monday morning (almost on a weekly basis).

I'm pretty sure it doesn't register my views.

I did an experiment with this using Incognito windows and that way seems to register views.

My views register, I always look at my listings as soon as I post them even before they index, and they almost always have one view within a day, even before they are live. I don't pay a lot of attention to the views though, I just figure a lot of things tend to be a wonky, for example,  I have things that haven't indexed for almost a week now. This has become expected and regular at this point so I try not to stress about it. All the waiting items I made before today have 1 or 2 views. The things I made today are showing 0 but I think tomorrow will show 1.

So that being said, if your personal views aren't counting within a day or so, then something may be wonky!

Are you sharing your items?

I can always see '1 view' within a day of sharing to Pinterest. Whether they get more views after that is very variable depending on the popularity of the item in the 'outside world' and how much traffic I am bringing or if it is sufficiently visible in the marketplace to gain views from onsite traffic. But it appears to be working.

Leah, our views are recorded in the views count when Zazzle is working correctly. It has worked this way for years. 😏

I'm probably not looking enough! lol

Meanwhile my views are still updating after sharing.

For me it's a product I posted way back in the beginning of March that I had a few friends look at and it still says "0" views. Unfortunately, I don't publish new products almost not at all any more. So I have nothing new to compare it to.

Hmmm.... I posted this because I thought that Zazzle itself gave you an automatic 1 view.  I thought that was how things worked in the past? Perhaps that is no longer the case.  Or, I was wrong?

If you view your item after you list it, it should

My latest showing in public was created 3/24/24 . Since then I have posted 16 more items (3/26 to 4/1).

This is an ongoing problem.  So many of my products have 0 views.  Plus I have noticed that its hit or miss on what products become public in my store.  Example I will list 5 new products and 3 will show up immediately in "new products on public view" the other 2 seem to have fallen through the cracks they are the products with the 0 views.  No matter how many times I promote the 0 view products they do not seem to get any views.  Its so discouraging.

Are you using Brave as a browser @Susang6 ? That was my problem several months back. I was using it because it's purpose was to block adds. It was also blocking my own views as well. I'm not sure potential customers were also using a browser with this function but once I went back to using Firefox my views came back.

I use google chrome and normally do not have a problem with getting that initial just listed view the (1 view) but some of my products do fall through the cracks and have 0 views.  I honestly think its a glitch...and I am certain that tech support will figure it out.  Like this product you can see it got a like but

no view...   thanks for your reply .

Gosh that is weird. I hope Zazzle pays attention to your pleas and rectifies the problem.

Do you know if its better to delete the old products (listed in 11/2024) that have 0 views ?  Delete and republish?  I keep finding products with no views and a few have ended up in hidden status .

If I were having this issue I'd wait until I get a response from Zazzle. I'd also write to them at team.designer@zazzle.com with a link to this thread.

Thanks I will do that...you are very helpful

I think the issue goes further than just the first view.  I have GA4 enabled on my site and looked at some data on my products.  A couple minutes ago, Zazzle showed the views between the 2 products at 152.  Google says the views are 633 in the last 28 days.  That's a huge difference!  And because people can opt out of Google data collection, that should always be smaller than any internal statistics Zazzle collects.

There is a thread around here somewhere from a while ago re how view count differs depending on which stat on Z you are looking at. And a Mod actually chimed in with the info that one stat reflects "de-dupped" views, which still wasn't clear but did provide the insight that in whichever case, the Z algorithm doesn't count repeat views from same IP over whatever time frame... Like I said, it wasn't all that clear, but, point is, perhaps those much higher views Google is reporting include repeat views and bots?
I rarely consider views on Z as I find them to be completely unreliable stats which therefore are useless to me. Also, regardless of how they might be recorded (or not), if you are a high-level designer or your product is coming up tops in search or Trending, you are probably getting a lot of views from other designers just trying to see what you are doing and how you are tagging. So one could be getting lots views that don't actually reflect customer interest. And like others, I've had products sell but then when you go and sort by Last Viewed, that product's last-viewed date will be very old. Also, it's come to light that there are certain browsers & extensons & ad-blockers that somehow prevent your view to a page from being registered. So for me personally, I feel like since the view stats aren't trustworthy they aren't worth worrying about.

Views are a problem for me as today I had 177 hidden products of that many of them had 0 views.  I normally do not go back and look at products that I list...after I share I move on to listing new products.   So the products with 0 Zazzle views just seem to fall through the cracks until they show up as "hidden"   I do not think views at Zazzle is working for all of the creators.   So many are hit or miss.  See example here>  My latest product created at my public store verses management see image below, My management indicates that out of the latest products created 3 products are missing...why.?  I wonder why some  products are hit or miss, when moving to "latest products created in public store? " What do you think??

@Susang6  My indexing is behind for 5 days, so that might for you also be the reason you don't see them in your store yet. Indexing does not seem to follow any logic and certainly does not follow the order in which things are created.
