Ascend Affiliate store builder causing load issues on mobile version of site, need to remove

Hi,

recently installed Ascend affiliate store builder on website

https://www.budgetweddinginvites.com

and checking site for load speeds etc via

https://pagespeed.web.dev/ (Google referred me to this site)

Found while desktop version performs well at 82% the mobile version is below 50% and one main problem appears to be re the storebuilder, see screenshots

Problem reported as follows

"The Opportunities section of your Lighthouse report lists all images in older image formats, showing potential savings gained by serving AVIF versions of those images:"

So Ascend appears to be using older image formats, is it possible for Zazzle to discuss with Ascend an improved storebuilder along with larger images sizes as I reported in other technical issue thread these are VERY small when viewed via desktop.laptop ...thumb nail. Need an option for images to be displayed at around 300x300px.

I will have to remove the store builder option if this cannot be resolved. I really need as I am sure other affiliates do an effective shop display with prices and details ... which I do love about the Ascend storebuilder.

Thank you

Hi Leah, i have been thinking on this since you posted,I don’t have any answers for you because  I don’t use any affiliate store builders.

But I do have some questions.
You said that Ascend is using using old  image formats, and you are not allowed/able/interested tin adjusting  the images, right?
Could you instead consider  a different store builder that might be more amenable to your needs?
I skimmed thru Ascend, can’t remember if it is free.
Are there other free store builders that also display with prices and details?
If you have already spoken to Ascend and nothing appears to be possibly changing, then you must be very frustrated. Especially having to set it up, discover the problem, and as you said, maybe have to remove the store builder option.

Just wondering.

Hi, the script is provided by Ascend and there is nothing in that script that relates to image sizes. Ascend is  is Zazzle's affiliate provider, hence reporting the issues here and to see if others affected, though we all will be, this will be an issue for every affiliate and program, on their platform. If Zazzle rather than myself bring the issues to their attention, it might help them consider an update.

Re other providers, I don't know of any others that cater for Zazzle and include the prices.

EDIT

Zazzle

Just reviewing my site, many of the images aren't displaying so I will be removing the storebuilder shortly.

Well, that explains a lot. I didn’t realize that  zazzle had “specifically  approved” (may not be the right term) ascend as an affiliate. That could explain why zazzle may be able to work with them about the issues.
Hope  they have the techs and/or the interest  to update their code.
Thanks for the insights and explanations!

I just saw your edit about missing images and having to remove your storebuilder. Not amusing, at all. Nope.

Ascend is not an affiliate they're the platform Zazzle use to run their affiliate program (aside from the one they do direct from Zazzle itself).

So now, I have to go rewrite some code to adjust my brain algorhythm. But, thanks for clearing that affiliate thing up.😁
