Colors in Editing Too Dark

I put a similar post in the suggestions and ideas area months ago but nothing has gotten better. Can you please change the color of the lock and the hide icons in the layer sections to white. The highlight color is dark blue and the black lock and hide can not be seen anymore. It is hard to see them through the dark gray that un-highlighted areas are but now it is impossible with the dark and dark. Simply make the icons white. Please I am begging you this is really impossible to see.  I have been waiting months for something to change and just recently everything got darker and seeing the icons is like this.   Thank you

I agree - really difficult to see it unless you hover directly over either and then they turn orange.

With the light blue when you hover at least you can see both at the same time

but once it's selected (dark blue) you have to hover over the lock and eye separately to see them then they turn to orange (but only when you hover over them)

When did that layer selection change to dark blue? Somehow I never noticed that. You're right, the lock and eye icon are no longer visible at all. That definitely needs to be fixed.

The hover was not working to lighten the area. It works now   Thank you

I didn't get back with this. The hover does make the color lighter and you can see the icons but that does not help me to know which layers are currently locked or blocked. When working with a few layers of the same item and lock one. I can not see which one is locked after I start working on the design again. The icons need to turn light blue when they are active so we know which ones are currently clicked.

Oh, UGH!! This is why I was so much more aggravated than usual trying to work with hidden layers the other night.

1) When you've selected a layer the highlight is dark blue and I literally cannot see the eye or lock icons at all. If you happen to move your mouse over the small area where the icon is, it flashes red. Which helps nothing because they turn red whether they are activated or not.

2) If you move over a layer without actually selecting it, the highlight is a light blue and both icons are visible in gray whether activated or not, and as above, if you mouse over them they turn red whether active or not. This is not helpful.

3) If the layer is neither selected nor being moused-over, it's a gray background and you can very faintly see the darker gray icon only if it's actually Locked or Hidden. If you have a lot of layers & with many of them having exact same name (oval, oval, oval, oval ...) this is not helpful. You might be able to spot that one of your ovals is Hidden, but which one? Even if you select that layer (which then causes #1 above) hidden layers don't get a bounding box so you can't even figure it out by looking at the design canvas instead of the Layers panel.

With the recent back-to-back additions of Drop Shadow and Stroke for text, Zazzle's design tool is becoming almost a full-fledged graphic design program, way beyond just a simple editor for customers to tweak existing designs. This is fantastic but I don't think Zazzle realizes how important hiding/unhiding layers is to the design process for Creators and as it is (which is worse than it already was) it's almost unworkable, so much aggravation and wasted time. It's not a tangible part of a design, like adding a stroke or cropping an image, but it's integral to the design process so deserves some attention to make it more user-friendly.

Here's a thread from February that goes into detail, with screenshots,  on how maddening this aspect of the Design Tool is and why we need it, with Creator suggestions for improvement. 😉
