Image not showing up where placed on tie

I am trying to design a tie with a simple image. I want to place the image on the front of the tie towards the bottom. When I have it placed where I want, I look at it in the 'view' (lower right hand corner on my Mac) that shows the front, reverse, rolled up and on a person when tied. When viewing the reverse the image is there even though I did not place it there - and, more importantly, do not want it to appear there. It's been awhile since I've done this stuff (pre 2016 or longer ago) and things have changed in how the site works. In the past I made the image a bit longer and wider than the whole tie since it was to cover the entire tie. This image is only to appear in one specific location and nowhere else. What am I doing wrong? I apologize not knowing what different elements are called here and if this is posted in the wrong forum. Thanks for any insights anyone can offer.

The ties are how they were before, but if you've not done designs like this before, you might not have seen how it works. Basically, the front design area is only half of one side of the tie. The other half will be that design repeated. This means if you put an image on the front point of the tie, it will also show on the other side.

The back design area is also only half of the tie, but on the reverse side that usually faces the wearer.

So I cannot do what I want to do it sounds - image on lower front 'wide' part with no image on front 'skinny' part. Back when ties were first introduced I recall that one designed for the full length of the front which is what I assumed I could still do. Indeed, it has changed - or maybe because I was using one image for the whole tie it never did. Thanks for your reply!
