Hundreds of recently listed products have been hidden for optimization

I just discovered that hundreds of recently listed products — many not even a week old — are for some reason hidden and according to Zazzle in need of optimization.  Why is this happening?

It's a bug, just ride it out. When Z in implementing changes to the site there is always tech issues. One report from another creator said their products were coming back to life. So there is hope yours will too. 😁

I wasn’t willing to let my products stay hidden so I’ve already dealt with the issue and unhid them. If it is a bug, there’s no telling when or if it will be fixed; with so many tech issues I’m tired of speculating and giving Zazzle the benefit of the doubt.  I’d like to hear from zazzle that this is just a bug, not another new “feature” and that it’s on the high priority fix list.

I unhid all of them late last night .  I just checked and the same ones are all hidden again.  I wasted several hours unhiding them because it was unclear if and when Zazzle might respond with a fix.  Now that work was wasted and the listings can’t even be found.  I feel like all I do these days is jump through hoops responding to zazzle make work projects, those that are planned and those that are the result of their messy glitch filled site updates. I am exhausted.  And just got a big pay cut to boot.

Wasted time? This is why you have to wait after you have reported a bug and let Z respond. Especially because others were experiencing the same thing.

There are all sorts of thing wrong with the site and stores today. Spinning your wheels is a lesson in futility. Seriously, just walk away for 24 hours and see what tomorrow brings. Go do something you enjoy.

I suppose that I could have passively waited for the usual “I’ve reported it” message, but experience has taught me on Zazzle that a fix, if one even occurs, might be far away if it even happens.  Like those mythical new earnings reports were supposed to benefit from, so far MIA 8 days AFTER they lobbed a massive bomb at us. Or all of the listings that were published in early - mid March but aren’t yet indexed.  With so much broken I could go on and on.

In this case, what was hidden was material, more of a risk than reward to wait IMO.

Same thing happening with me. Been going on for a few weeks. It doesn't matter if I go through them and refresh tags, titles and descriptions or simply make public again. 

 

At this point after doing a deeper dive into 3 of my stores, I am missing over 9000 items from the marketplace after the false ‘needs to be optimized’ tech issue from 4/8. They’re in my store in listing order but many that I have checked are not found in the Zazzle department selected when listed, only in my own internal categories.  They are not found in a back end search of my stores. They have not yet been reindexed after 9 days.   I’ve emailed Zazzle several times but have gotten crickets.  Nothing.  A lot of work went into those listings and Zazzle just made them go ‘poof’ into thin air.  I really would like to know when they will reappear.  Pretty demoralizing on top of the recent massive Zazzle pay slashing.

I don't understand how you know that 9,000 products are missing from the public marketplace? Did you try searching the MP for each one? That would take years. Can you provide a link to one or two to see if we can see them?

My stores are not as large as yours so I'm not in the thousands,...Yikes! I am still having the same issue. I will be contacting them as well. 

A lot of work goes into my listings and Zazzle has constant tech problems in my stores. My sales have just gone ‘poof’ into thin air.  Also no chance to catch up with new requirements, eg Cover Photos, Zazzle just keeps putting out one thing after another like I'm a factory. Pretty demoralizing sales on top of the recent massive Zazzle pay slashing.

I'm now seeing products that say that they were viewed just 2 days ago appearing auto hidden by the needs optimization bot or whatever they use to hide the products.  Something is definitely broken.

Hi! I wanted to report that I'm experiencing this issue as well. One set of products has also been published twice. tried to unhide them and it didn't work.  Below is a picture of what I need when i log into my shop. the date is May 31, 2025 in California United States. I noticed today that my optimization needed totals jumped up greatly. When I opened them, I'd say at LEAST 90% of the new ones were only a few days or months old, and had dozens of views. Some were even my most popular items. ALL HIDDEN! What's going on with the Optimization Needed feature?????

I'm having same issue. Have products that were viewed 2 weeks ago, 4 mos ago and similar dates that supposedly need optimization.  I have a lot that truly do need optimization, but I'm afraid to update them for fear they'll just go back to being hidden again. Frustrating. With all the other issues going on, I can't do any creating or editing of products, so I figured I'd do my optimizing. Nope!

I've noticed just today that the majority of the products in my store have disappeared. I want to cry. Old stuff and new stuff alike. I just want to cry. 😭

I guess I'll just have to quit working in my store for now, at least until all the glitches are fixed. No telling how long that will take. 😑
