This Product is not Appended with "Notebook"

I'm not sure if this is a technical issue or if I'm doing something wrong?

Anyone know if there is a way to force "notebook" at the end?

Hi @MasterpieceCafe,

The team have confirmed that this is expected behavior. If you add an alternate title that we have defined for that product type, then it will override the default title.

Hi MC, what I do is to delete whatever the product name that is added to the end of the title, then add the word notebook to the end of the title. If it still adds the default product name, I delete that again and keep the word notebook at the end. Of course the radio button  underneath that asks you to choose the category should change too or you can change it manually. Hope that makes sense. Been doing it ever since z started appending the product name. It works for me. (Until now…)
i mainly do this when I want the product name to be different from the default, change gift box to keepsake box or jewelry box, or button to pin  or pin button.

No product name is appended. I have the notebook in the right category, it just doesn't add the word "notebook" to the title. I know I can add the word "notebook" myself, but then my title is shortened. It's a work-around that I've used for many greeting cards and invitations that do not have the appended product title. But I was hoping I could do something to force the correct title.

I just created a notebook product, when I created it, the title bar did I not add the word notebook but it categorized correctly underneath it. I checked the product after it posted, and the word notebook is definitely added to the end of the title. (Even tho when creating, the title bar doesn’t show it. Hope that helps. It’s a Crazy-making issue…

Usually it works for me, this is the product that I noticed today that isn't appended. I tried editing, but that didn't make a difference.

Try using “Mother Goose Reading To Children” instead, removing the word ‘books’ and two spaces, may shorten the character length so that the ‘notebook’ product replaces that space to show up.

Tried, it doesn't change.

Thanks for trying to help. I don't think it makes a difference for searching within Zazzle, but it probably makes a difference for SEO.

I should add title length doesn't seem to be an issue with longer product titles like cases.

I have noticed, on occasion, when I have a word in the title that is similar to or the same meaning as the product, it doesn't add the extra product word at the end. So maybe the problem is with the word "books"? It might be competing with "notebook". And that's why it's not an issue with the phone case. It's worth a try, at any rate, to see if an amended title fixes things.

That's it! I took out the word "books" and it appended with notebook. Same with my wrapping paper issue up above, I have the word "paper" in the title as well.

This is frustrating as my titles have nothing to do with the physical product, only the image.

@Scott  is this something that can be changed? Thanks!

Just noticed my wrapping paper isn't appending either? This is a new one. Apparently this is a new issue, it's just the last 4 I created today.

@MasterpieceCafe I notice that the word paper is in the title of this one... you mentioned above that paper was an issue for another product... could it be the same for this one too?

Yes, that seems to be the issue. Using a word in the title that is similar to the product type. Which is unfortunate because I definitely have many instances with this conflict. I assume others must too.

Hey @MasterpieceCafe,

I tested this out just now and the word "notebook" was added automatically and a small blue pop up window in the bottom left corner alerted me of this change.

Is this still happening for you?

Looking at the backend it now says "notebook" in the title. But I experimented with several things including editing and submitting to be replaced. The wrapping paper I created yesterday is not appended presumably because it has the word "paper" in the title. I've tried editing but that doesn't change it.

Bummer for me. Thanks for the information, at least I'm aware of the conflict going forward.

Oh drats, it was appended with "notebook" since I took out the word book. Once I add the word book back into the title the product name of "notebook" disappears.
